Dear riders,
We have collected several public transit changes that are worth getting to know about this week.
Rail service changes in Ashdod and Ashkelon – July 15-16
Due to maintenance work, on Friday July 15 and on Saturday evening July 16, there will be temporary changes in rail service in the southern region:
- Trains on the Beer Sheva-Tel Aviv Savidor Central line – will operate between Tel Aviv Savidor Central and Ashdod Ad Halom, and will not stop at Beer Sheva stations.
- Trains on the Ashkelon-Raanana West line will operate between Yavne West and Raanana West stations, and will not stop at Ashdod Ad Halom and Ashkelon stations.
- Trains on the Ashkelon-Sderot-Netivot-Ofakim-Beer Sheva line will be operated as usual
- Israel Railways will operate free shuttles between Yavne West-Ashdod Ad Halom-Ashkelon stations (in both directions).
Service will return to normal on Sunday, July 17.
US President visits Israel
From July 13 to 15, US President Joe Biden will visit Jerusalem 
During the visit, local road closures and traffic disruptions are expected.
King David Street (in the Plummer Square section – Mamila) will remain closed for the entire visit.
Begin Blvd. will remain open during the entire visit.
Wednesday
Between 14: 00-20: 00, Road 1 (TLV-Jerusalem) will be blocked in both directions and the entry/exit from Jerusalem through Ben Gurion Boulevard and HA’Arazim Tunnel will not be allowed. Entry/exit from the city will only be allowed via Route 443.
Blocked streets: Herzl Blvd. from the entrance to the city to Hantke, Bate Street, Zalman Shneor, Herzog (Niyot to Aza), Aza, Keren Hayesod, King George, Agron, King David, Jabotinsky.
Thursday
Between 10: 45-11: 30 + 13:30 – 14:30 Agron Street will be closed.
From 14:30 to 19:00, Jabotinsky Street in both directions and Keren Hayesod in the direction of Plummer will be blocked.
From 18:00 to 22:00, the following streets will be blocked: Jabotinsky, Keren Hayesod, Agron, King George, Aza, Herzog, A.S Beitar, Golomb.
* Entry and exit from the Benbenisti terminal will be allowed
Friday
- Between 08: 00-12: 00, the following streets will be closed: Agron, Jerusalem Brigade, Kariv, King Solomon, IDF Tunnel, Bar-Lev Blvd, Ha’Tzhanhanim, Eshkol Tunnel, Neomi Shemer, University Blvd., Yitzhak Nadiv, Derech Hebron To the Rachel Crossing
The Light Rail will operate between Air Force stations and Givat Hamivtar only
Maccabiah events in Jerusalem
On Thursday, July 14, the opening events of the Maccabiah will take place in Jerusalem. Following the events, there will be service changes in the lines in the area as the following streets will be closed: A.S Beitar, A.S Maccabi, and Benvenisti.
🚄 Additional Rail Service
In preparation for the event, four special trains will be added to the Modiin – Jerusalem line.
Train number 8541, will leave Modi’in Center station at 16:30 and will stop at the Pa’atei Modi’in and Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon (last stop).
Train number 8543, will leave Modi’in Center station at 17:35 and will stop at the Pa’atei Modi’in and Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon (last stop).
Train number 8540, will depart from Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon station at 11:45 PM and will stop at the Pa’atei Modi’in and Modi’in Center (last stop). Another train (8190) will be connected to this train, for the benefit of passengers whose destinations are the coastline and Haifa stations, which will depart from Modi’in Center station at 00:25 (Friday) and stop at Pa’atei Modi’in, Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv Hagana, Tel Aviv Hashalom, Tel Aviv Savidor Center, Tel Aviv University, Herzliya, Beit Yehoshua, Netanya, Hadera West, Binyamina, Haifa Hof Hacarmel, Haifa Bat Galim, Haifa Merkaz Hashmona.
- On this day, the electrification work, which is carried out every night on the shoreline, will be suspended, in order to allow the visitors of the event to return by train, to northern destinations from Tel Aviv.
- Free shuttles will operate from Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon Station to Teddy Stadium and backwards
