June 22, 2025

Starting on Sunday, June 22, Metro is updating bus service with changes designed to improve the accuracy of our schedules, reduce wait times for riders at bus stops and provide better connections for access to key destinations in L.A. County.

These are part of Metro’s twice-yearly service changes. All the changes along with maps and schedules are  posted here: http://metro.net/mybus.

A summary of changes is below.

    Bus schedule changes

Line by line service change details

Here is more information about the upcoming service changes, including changes to some routes that will help buses avoid traffic and help riders reach more destinations more quickly.

Line 10 (Downtown LA – West Hollywood)

Passenger service westbound at West Hollywood will be extended to Santa Monica Bl & San Vicente Bl to allow for convenient connection to Line 4.

Line 28 (Downtown LA – Century City)

Passenger service eastbound on weekdays will have one trip around 4pm extended to start from Century City to accommodate high ridership.

Line 30 (Downtown LA – Pico/Rimpau Transit Center)

Relocate Line 30 east terminal from Temple & Garey to Central & 1st adjacent to Little Tokyo/ Arts District Station on the A & E Lines to provide bus operators access to 24-hour facilities. This requires the relocation of the first westbound stop from Alameda & 1st St to Central & 1st St.

Line 62 (Downtown LA – Hawaiian Gardens)

To improve on-time performance and reduce passenger travel times, Line 62 will be rerouted off Olympic Boulevard between Calada Street and Boyle Avenue at Boyle Heights. The new southbound routing will operate via Boyle, turn left on 8th St, turn left on Olympic and return to the existing route, with northbound trips operating the same streets in reverse. This supports the re-route of Line 66 to travel directly on Olympic and omitting service on 8th St.

Line 66 (Wilshire/Western Station – Montebello Metrolink Station)

The portion of the route operating on 8th St between Calada Street and Soto Street will be rerouted to operate directly on Olympic Boulevard to avoid delay and reduce passenger travel time. This change is part of Metro’s NextGen Bus Plan, and has an associated change to Line 62, which will be altered to serve 8th St.

Line 258 (Paramount – Highland Park)  The first weekday northbound trip will begin at Paramount & Alondra instead of Telegraph & Atlantic to improve customer convenience.

Line 260 (Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station – Pasadena)  Northbound trips departing the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station will be re-routed via southbound Willowbrook Avenue, then left on 119th Street, left on Mona Boulevard, right on Imperial Highway and then return to its current route. This will improve operational issues with the existing route and avoids delays from a rail crossing along the route.

Line 296 (Burbank Station – Lincoln/Cypress Station via Riverside Drive)

Line 296 will be re-routed from Figueroa Street to operate via Avenue 26, San Fernando Road and Riverside Drive, adding convenient stop locations on Avenue 26 at Figueroa to give better transfers for riders to/from Lines 81, 90, 94 and 251 on Figueroa and easier access to nearby destinations.

Line 577 (El Monte Station – Long Beach VA Medical Center)

The current south terminus at Long Beach for Line 577 on 7th Street just east of Channel Street will be relocated 250 feet further east along 7th Street due to operational problems with the current location.

Line 602 (Westwood – Paul Revere Middle School)

Due to Palisades Fire recovery work, Line 602 will not operate west of Sunset and Allenford (Paul Revere Middle School). This route update will remain in effect pending progress of the fire recovery work.

Line 603 (Downtown LA – Glendale Galleria)

Line will be renumbered to Line 93 to better reflect Metro’s standard route numbering system. The route and schedule of Line 603 will remain the same.

Line 605 (Grande Vista/Olympic – LAC + USC Outpatient Clinic)

Line 605 southbound route will be re-routed at East LA via 4th Street to left on Fresno, right on 1st Street, right on Lorena and then back to the current regular route. There is no change to the northbound route. This helps fix operational issues with buses turning at two intersections.

Line 660 (Del Mar Station – Woodbury Road/Fair Oaks Avenue)

Due to Eaton Fire recovery efforts, the existing Line 660 detour route will be made semi-permanent until further notice. There will continue to be no service north of Woodbury Road until recovery efforts are complete.

Line 662 (Del Mar Station – Woodbury Road/Lincoln Av Layover)

Due to Eaton Fire recovery efforts, the existing Line 662 detour route will be made semi-permanent until further notice. There will be service north of Woodbury Road until recovery efforts are complete.
