⚠️ Rally and road closure this weekend

    Anti-ICERD is very likely to proceed this weekend

    Kuala Lumpur City Hall had granted permission to the organiser to hold the Anti-ICERD rally this Saturday (8th December 2018) from 2pm to 6pm at Dataran Merdeka.

    The rally is expected to draw more than 500,000 supporters to attend.

    Public transport in the city may be affected.

    All form of public transport in the city expected to be experiencing major delay, limited service or cancelled. Please do plan ahead your travel needs and/or avoid altogether travel plan to the city during the rally.

    7 Dec 2018

    2.30pm – KL City Hall announced that the following roads will be closed; Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin (before the tunnel), Leboh Pasar (near the Malaysian Bar), Jalan Tun Perak (from LRT Masjid Jamek onwards), Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (after Sogo’s crossroads), Jalan Raja Laut (near Summit Hotel) and Bulatan Dato’ Onn (near Bank Negara). They will be closed from 6am on Saturday.

    3.27pm – Operator Rapid KL had announced the following changes to route 170, 171, 173, 190, 200, 202, 220, 250 will only ply until Sogo, while buses from Cheras & Sungai Besi Corridor will operate as usual subject to instruction from the police. Changes take effect from the first trip of the day until rally is over.

    12.00pm – Rally went ahead and affecting most route in and around KL City centre. It was reported by our user that GoKL Red line is currently bypassing all stops between KL Sentral and Titiwangsa.

    5.00pm – Participants had been seen to start clearing the venue as rain is expected.

    5.54pm – Rally is expected to conclude at 6.00pm. Service to resume to normal as soon as the rally site is open to traffic again.
