    📰 VTA Light Rail Return

    VTA started operating a limited light rail service on Sunday, August 29th.

    • Orange Line from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, every 20 minutes until 8 p.m. at which time it will operate every 30 minutes;
    • Green Line from Civic Center to Old Ironsides from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., every 20 minutes until 8 p.m. at which time it will operate every 30 minutes
    • Bus bridge along First Street from Paseo de San Antonio to Baypointe and onto Milpitas Transit Center/BART Station will operate every 30 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

    📰 Fare Updates

    BART is providing 50% off all fares on Clipper for the entire month of September.

    AC Transit is providing free rides every Friday in September with Fare-Free Fridays. Fare-Free Fridays apply to all AC Transit local and Transbay lines, allowing riders to board without fare payment from 12 am to 11:59 pm on September 3, 10, 17, and 24. Riders can expect to see fareboxes and Clipper card readers covered, Tempo ticket vending machines turned off, and mobile fare payment deactivated during this time.

    VTA will not collect fares on light rail only, starting August 29 through September 12.

    County Connection, WestCAT, Wheels, and Tri-Delta Transit are providing free fares for the entire month of September.
