COVID-19 Miami & South FL Transit Updates

    Miami Dade Transit Updates
    • All transit fares are suspended until further notice.
    • Auto reloads for monthly pass holders will be suspended.
    • Metrobus customers will be required to board through the vehicle’s rear entrance. Accommodations for riders with disabilities will continue to be made.
    • Blocked seats closer to operator’s cabin to ensure social distancing
    • Transportation and Public Works will operate on a Sunday schedule Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, and a regular weekday schedule Friday, Nov. 27.

    Metrobus Updates:

    • Thanksgiving Holiday Service, November 26-27

      On Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26:

      • We will operate on a New Normal Sunday schedule.
      On Friday, November 27:
      • We will operate our regular New Normal weekday schedule.
    • Various Metrobus routes have adjusted frequencies. Please visit the agency service updates website for more information on specific routes that may have changed
    • Metrobus routes are being detoured and/or shortened from November 10th due to flooding: 27, 32, 36, 54, 73, 99, 110/J, 183, 217, 254, 267, & 297
    • ROUTE 277: Beginning Wed., Oct. 21, route 277 will not service the Audrey Edmonson Transit Village. The route will continue to service all Northbound and Southbound trips on 62nd St & NW 7th Ave, north of the intersection.
    • ROUTE 17: Please be advised that this route is following a slight detour on NW 17 Ave, between NW N River Dr. & NW 7 St., due to road work until Friday, October 23.
    • The following routes are being serviced by alternative vehicles:

      • 95 Express Golden Glades (Trips are alternated with Metrobus vehicles)
    • Freedom Tower Station Closure:
    Until further notice:
    • Freedom Tower Metromover station is closed.
    • Riders can board or exit Metromover at Park West, College North, or College/Bayside stations.
    • The closure is due to renovations to the station.
    • Constructed expected to be completed by Fall 2021.
      • As of Monday, June 29, 2020, the following routes will be serviced by alternative vehicles:

        • 39
        • 57
        • 150
        • 95 Express Golden Glades
      • As of Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the following routes will be services by alternative vehicles:
        • 135

      Routes, schedules, and frequencies will not change due to vehicle type.

      • Various Metrobus routes have adjusted frequencies. Please visit the service updates website
      • All Express Metrobus routes, listed below, have been suspended until further notice:
        • 836 Express
        • 175 Express
        • 95 Express/Broward Blvd to Downtown
        • 95 Express/Broward Blvd to Civic Center
        • 95 Express/Sheridan to Downtown
        • 95 Express/Sheridan to Civic Center
      • Late-night service for the following routes has been suspended:
        • Route 3
        • Route 11
        • Route 27
        • Route 38
        • Route 77
        • Route 112
        • Route 119
        • Route 246
        • Route 500

    The following Metrobus routes, which have overlapping service, have been suspended until further notice due to low ridership. Riders can use alternative routes to get to their destination:

    • Route 79 riders can take route 112/L
    • Route 204 users can take route 104
    • Route 288 riders can use route 88
    • Since May 18, select Metrobus routes were restored to their regular schedules. Please visit the service updates page for additional details

    Metrorail Updates:

    • Metrorail service hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
    • Passengers heading to the Miami International Airport station will need to transfer at Earlington Heights station to catch the Orange Line train
    • Orange Line train available only from Earlington Heights. Frequency is every 15 minutes all day on weekdays.
    • During the morning peak hours on weekdays, Metrorail Green Line trains on the mainline traveling between Dadeland South and Palmetto stations will run every 10 minutes. Off-peak frequency will be every 15 minutes on weekdays.

    Metromover Updates:

    • Metromover service hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
    • The average frequency will be approximately five minutes all day weekdays

    Broward County Transit (BCT) Update

    • BCT Thanksgiving Holiday Service Hours
      Thursday, November 26, 2020
      • Broward County Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26th, and return to a modified Saturday schedule on Friday, November 27th.
    • BCT has suspended all fares until further notice
    • 75 Express – Route 115

      Sunrise Park & Ride – BB&T Center to Miami Gardens Drive Park & Ride West and Miami Airport Station

      • Due to low ridership, BCT is suspending service on 75 Express Route 115 until further notice
      • The last day of service will be Friday, August 21, 2020

    Rider Alerts:

    Pelican Hopper Community Shuttle

    • Due to construction on the Terra Mar bridge and a drainage project in the Terra Mar community, the Pelican Hopper will begin a temporary detour, eliminating its turn around in the Terra Mar Subdivision and continuing north and turning around at Lakeside Shoppes in Pompano Beach

    Rider Alert: Route 11, Fort Lauderdale
    Effective Saturday, November 21, 2020
    From 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM

    Fort Lauderdale Fast & Furious 5000 5k Run

    Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale will be closed between Andrews Avenue and SE 25th Avenue for the Fort Lauderdale Fast & Furious 5000 5k Run.
    The following detour will be in effect:
    • ROUTE 11 EASTBOUND: Eastbound buses leaving the Broward Central Terminal will continue south on Andrews Avenue to SW 17th Street; east on SW 17th Street to Seabreeze Boulevard; north on Seabreeze Boulevard (A1A) and continue on the regular route.
    • ROUTE 11 WESTBOUND: Eastbound detour will be reversed.

    Palm Tran Update

    • Palm Tran is offering bus service for the first time on Thanksgiving! Palm Tran, Palm Tran Connection, and Go Glades will all be operating this Thursday. Palm Tran’s fixed-route service will operate on a Sunday schedule.
    • Since September 14, Palm Tran has instituted ‘Saturday Service’ weekly

    • Starting Sunday, August 16
      All fixed-route, Connection and Go Glades riders will board through the front doors and be required to pay the fare to ride.
      Please have your bus pass or cash fare ready!
    • Effective until November 2020: Detour to Route 47 between Hooker Hwy. and south of Shirley Dr.
    • Effective until Dec 2020. Detour to Routes 1 & 41 on Banyan between Australian and Quadrille.
    • Effective until November 16: Detour Rt. 81 Swinton Ave & SE 1st Ave
    • Rt 81 new stop at Oriole Plaza behind Glick’s Market
    • Effective 8/17-TBD: Detour to Rts 61 & 62 at Lk Worth Tri-Rail.

    SFRTA/Tri-Rail Update

    • Tri-Rail will increase service starting Monday, October 19, 2020! So riders can plan ahead, click HERE to view the upcoming amended schedule.
    • Trains will be running at 92% of the ‘normal train service’.
    • SFRTA/Tri-Rail Fares has been reinstated since October 1, 2020
    • SFRTA/Tri-Rail trains are running on a reduced schedule until further notice

    Treasure Coast Connector (St Lucie County) Update

    • Treasure Coast Connector transit is running regular schedules for its routes. For more info. on route scheduling see the agency website here
    • At this time, Treasure Coast Connector is strongly suggesting that passenger use face masks/coverings for the safety of other passengers and the drivers.
    • All fixed-route buses are free and additional steps are being taken to make sure our drivers and passengers are safe as our area continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic

    MARTY (Martin County Transit) Update

    • MARTY is continuing to provide essential service by running regular schedules while social distancing recommendations are to be followed by passengers
    • To minimize interaction between patrons and bus operators, MARTY is suspending the sale of onboard bus passes and farebox collection until further notice
    • Fixed Route: Buses operate Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.Commuter Route: Buses operate Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.ADA Paratransit Service: This service operates Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    Go Line (Indian River Public Transit) Update

    • GoLine buses operate weekdays from 6:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m.
    • Saturday service is offered from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
