COVID-19 Miami & South FL Transit Updates

Transit at Government Center Downtown Miami

Miami Dade Transit Updates
  • All transit fares are suspended until further notice.
  • Auto reloads for monthly pass holders will be suspended.
  • Metrobus customers will be required to board through the vehicle’s rear entrance. Accommodations for riders with disabilities will continue to be made.
  • Blocked seats closer to operator’s cabin to ensure social distancing
  • Transportation and Public Works will operate on a Sunday schedule Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, and a regular weekday schedule Friday, Nov. 27.

Metrobus Updates:

  • Thanksgiving Holiday Service, November 26-27

    On Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26:

    • We will operate on a New Normal Sunday schedule.
    On Friday, November 27:
    • We will operate our regular New Normal weekday schedule.
  • Various Metrobus routes have adjusted frequencies. Please visit the agency service updates website for more information on specific routes that may have changed
  • Metrobus routes are being detoured and/or shortened from November 10th due to flooding: 27, 32, 36, 54, 73, 99, 110/J, 183, 217, 254, 267, & 297
  • ROUTE 277: Beginning Wed., Oct. 21, route 277 will not service the Audrey Edmonson Transit Village. The route will continue to service all Northbound and Southbound trips on 62nd St & NW 7th Ave, north of the intersection.
  • ROUTE 17: Please be advised that this route is following a slight detour on NW 17 Ave, between NW N River Dr. & NW 7 St., due to road work until Friday, October 23.
  • The following routes are being serviced by alternative vehicles:

    • 57
    • 77
    • 120
    • 135
    • 150
    • S
    • L
    • 95 Express Golden Glades (Trips are alternated with Metrobus vehicles)
  • Freedom Tower Station Closure:
Until further notice:
  • Freedom Tower Metromover station is closed.
  • Riders can board or exit Metromover at Park West, College North, or College/Bayside stations.
  • The closure is due to renovations to the station.
  • Constructed expected to be completed by Fall 2021.
    • As of Monday, June 29, 2020, the following routes will be serviced by alternative vehicles:

      • 39
      • 57
      • 150
      • 95 Express Golden Glades
    • As of Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the following routes will be services by alternative vehicles:
      • 135

    Routes, schedules, and frequencies will not change due to vehicle type.

    • Various Metrobus routes have adjusted frequencies. Please visit the service updates website
    • All Express Metrobus routes, listed below, have been suspended until further notice:
      • 836 Express
      • 175 Express
      • 95 Express/Broward Blvd to Downtown
      • 95 Express/Broward Blvd to Civic Center
      • 95 Express/Sheridan to Downtown
      • 95 Express/Sheridan to Civic Center
    • Late-night service for the following routes has been suspended:
      • Route 3
      • Route 11
      • Route 27
      • Route 38
      • Route 77
      • Route 112
      • Route 119
      • Route 246
      • Route 500

The following Metrobus routes, which have overlapping service, have been suspended until further notice due to low ridership. Riders can use alternative routes to get to their destination:

  • Route 79 riders can take route 112/L
  • Route 204 users can take route 104
  • Route 288 riders can use route 88
  • Since May 18, select Metrobus routes were restored to their regular schedules. Please visit the service updates page for additional details

Rider Alert: Route 11, Fort Lauderdale
Effective Saturday, November 21, 2020
From 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM

Fort Lauderdale Fast & Furious 5000 5k Run

Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale will be closed between Andrews Avenue and SE 25th Avenue for the Fort Lauderdale Fast & Furious 5000 5k Run.
The following detour will be in effect:
  • ROUTE 11 EASTBOUND: Eastbound buses leaving the Broward Central Terminal will continue south on Andrews Avenue to SW 17th Street; east on SW 17th Street to Seabreeze Boulevard; north on Seabreeze Boulevard (A1A) and continue on the regular route.
  • ROUTE 11 WESTBOUND: Eastbound detour will be reversed.
