Denver COVID-19 Transit Updates

Updates as of June 8th, 2020

RTD

RTD public transit, as critical infrastructure, continues to operate for essential travel. Fare collection is suspended at this time on all services. Capacity is limited to approximately 15 passengers per bus, 20 on larger buses, and 30 riders per rail car. If you are unable to maintain social distancing (6 foot spacing), do not board. Instead, wait for the next vehicle.

HOP bus will operate at weekend service levels every day, with 15-minute frequency from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 20-minute frequency 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

You are required to wear a mask while waiting for and riding any RTD service

Buff Bus (University of Colorado Boulder):

Buff Bus Service has been modified in response to campus efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19. With the move to remote learning and work arrangements, demand for Buff Bus transit has been significantly reduced as there are fewer students and employees on campus.

Bustang:

All service is suspended. More information can be found here.

Amtrak:

California Zephyr is operating as scheduled.

More information can be found here.

RFTA:

RFTA Phase 4 Service Plan includes:

RFTA will continue to limit bus capacity. RFTA urges employers to offer flexible work scheduling options whenever possible for their employees.  This will also help to spread out rush hour passenger demand and minimize crowding on buses with restricted capacities.

All RFTA passengers are required to wear face coverings for the foreseeable future when using RFTA services. Scarves, bandannas, buffs or other non-medical coverings are acceptable. As well, all passengers must load buses through the rear door, unless needing wheel chair ramp assistance.
