Free Rides for the Elderly on Senior Citizen’s Day

Free Rides for Senior Citizens Age 65 and above this Sunday!

Most Public Transport Operators are offering free rides for senior citizens age 65 and above on 21 November (Sunday) in conjunction with Senior Citizen’s Day.

Below are the details of free rides on Senior Citizen’s Day:

1. MTR, MTR Light Rail, and MTR Bus

Offer method: Senior Citizens can tap their Senior Citizens’ Octopus Card as usual and the fare will be automatically adjusted to $0.
Note: Offer not valid on Airport Express, journey to/from Lo Wu & Lok Ma Chau, Intercity Rail Service, High-Speed Rail, and First Class Cabin on East Rail Line.

2. KMB & LWB

Offer method: Senior Citizens can tap their Senior Citizens’ Octopus Card as usual and the fare will be automatically adjusted to $0, or present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Offer not valid on KMB Route P960 & P968

3. New World First Bus & Citybus

Offer method: Senior Citizens can tap their Senior Citizens’ Octopus Card as usual and the fare will be automatically adjusted to $0, or present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Offer not valid on Citybus private hire, staff shuttle, and sightseeing bus service.

4. New Lantao Bus

Offer method: Senior Citizens can tap their Senior Citizens’ Octopus Card as usual and the fare will be automatically adjusted to $0, or present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Offer not valid on NLB Route 1R.

5. Sun Ferry

Offer method: Senior Citizens present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Free ride on Sun Ferry’s Ordinary class of Ordinary Ferry service on following routes:
– Central – Cheung Chau
– Central – Mui Wo
– North Point – Hung Hom
– North Point – Kowloon City
–  Inter Islands (Peng Chau – Mui Wo – Chi Ma Wan – Cheung Chau)

6. Star Ferry

Offer method: Senior Citizens present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Free rides extended to one accompanying person

7. Park Island Transport (Ferry Service)

Offer method: Senior Citizens present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Free rides between Central and Tsuen Wan

8. Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry Limited

Offer method: Senior Citizens present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Free rides between Central and Yung Shue Wan, Central and Sok Kwu Wan, and Central and Peng Chau

9. Hong Kong Tramways

Offer method: Senior Citizens present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
Note: Octopus Reader might not be able to identify senior citizen Octopus card as free on the day, please do not tap the Octopus on the ride.

10. Green Minibus (New Territories) 

Offer method: Senior Citizens can tap their Senior Citizens’ Octopus Card as usual and the fare will be automatically adjusted to $0, or present valid Senior Citizen Card or Hong Kong Identity Card.
