Minor Schedule and Connection Adjustments

Special timetables are in effect systemwide while we perform switch work near Queens Village. While there are no major changes to service on this branch, all customers should plan ahead for minor changes in departure and connecting train times that may affect your trip.
Hempstead Branch
Service Increased to Half-Hourly
- 6:30AM to midnight, Oct 23-24 and 30-31
We are operating Hempstead Branch service every half hour. Consider taking it as an alternative to Port Jefferson Branch service as we perform switch work near Queens Village. During daytime hours, every other train operates to/from Penn Station.
Oyster Bay
No Service Between East Williston and Jamaica
- Weekend of October 30-31
Train service is suspended between Jamaica and East Williston while we perform switch work near Queens Village. Please allow up to 60 minutes of additional travel time. As an alternative, consider traveling via the Port Washington or Hempstead Branches. Click here to see a map of this service change.
Oyster Bay Branch trains operate every two hours between Oyster Bay and East Williston. Free LIRR shuttle buses connect East Williston, Mineola, and Hempstead, where train service is available to Jamaica, Penn Station, and Atlantic Terminal.
Port Jefferson
No Service Between Hicksville and Jamaica

Train service is suspended between Hicksville and Jamaica while we perform switch work near Queens Village. Please allow up to 60 minutes of additional travel time or consider traveling via the Hempstead, Babylon, or Montauk Branches instead. Click here to see a map of this service change.
Hicksville through Port Jefferson
Trains operate in three sections:
- Between Huntington or Port Jefferson and Hicksville
- Between Hicksville and Babylon
- Between Babylon and Jamaica/Penn Station
Transfer at Hicksville and Babylon for continuing service.
Carle Place and Westbury
There is no train service at these stations. Consider using the Freeport, Merrick, or Hempstead stations instead. NICE Bus is accepting LIRR tickets on the N22/24 bus routes for service to Mineola or Hicksville, and on the N40/41 bus route for service between Mineola and Hempstead. Mineola
There is no train service. Consider using the Hempstead Branch instead, which will have increased service all weekend. NICE Bus is accepting LIRR tickets on the N40/41 bus route for service to Hempstead. See www.nicebus.com for bus schedules.
Between midnight and 5 a.m., when NICE Bus service is unavailable, LIRR will provide shuttle buses stopping at Mineola and Hicksville.
New Hyde Park and Merillon Avenue
There is no train service at these stations. As an alternative, use nearby Stewart Manor or Nassau Boulevard stations on the Hempstead Branch, which is running more frequent service.
