    What’s in Store?

    🎄 Holiday Schedule Updates: Many agencies are offering alternative service for Christmas and New Year’s. As always, Moovit is updated. Plan your travels with our trip planner. We have also compiled a list of your favorite agencies below. 

    🚌 Real-Time Arrivals: Traveling during the Holiday season can be hectic but Moovit helps you stay informed with Real-Time arrival updates that let you know exactly when your bus/train/subway is arriving.

    Christmas & New Year’s Service by Agency

    • Metro 
      • Metro is offering free rides on bus and rail to all passengers the night of Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Free fares on bus and rail will be in effect from:
        • 9:00 pm on Sunday, December 24 until 2:00 am on Monday the 25th
        • 9:00 pm on Sunday, December 31, until 2:00 am on Monday, January 1, 2024.
      • Metro will also be running trains all night long on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, so however you plan to celebrate, you’ll be able to get home safely.
      • Metro will operate Sunday/Holiday service on Christmas, Monday, December 25th, and on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1st.
    • Long Beach Transit
      • Long Beach Transit will operate Holiday service (click for details) on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
    • OCTA
      • OCTA will operate Sunday/Holiday service on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
    • Foothill Transit
      • Foothill Transit will operate Holiday service on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
    • LADOT
      • LADOT Commuter Express service will not operate on Monday, December 25, 2023 or Monday, January 1, 2024, with the exception of Route 142.
        • Commuter Express 142 will operate on its holiday schedule on Monday, December 25, 2023 and Monday, January 1, 2024.
      • LADOT DASH service will not operate on Monday, December 25, 2023 or Monday, January 1, 2024, with the exception of routes:
        • DASH Chesterfield Square
        • DASH El Sereno/City Terrace
        • DASH North Hollywood
        • DASH Observatory/Los Feliz
        • DASH Panorama City/Van Nuys
        • DASH Pico Union/Echo Park
        • DASH San Pedro
        • DASH Southeast
        • DASH Wilmington
        • DASH Wilshire Center/Koreatown
    • Montebello Bus Lines
      • Montebello Bus Lines will operate Holiday service (click for details) on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
    • Big Blue Bus
      • Big Blue Bus will operate Sunday service on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
      • Celebrate New Year’s Eve with a safe, friendly, and FREE ride home! Big Blue Bus customers can ride free beginning Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 9 p.m., until Monday, January 1, 2024 at 1 a.m.
    • Metrolink Trains
      • Metrolink will operate a weekend schedule on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023. The $10 Holiday ticket will be available for purchase on this day and is valid for systemwide travel. Arrow will also offer its weekend schedule with the same Holiday Pass available. The weekend schedule includes service on the Antelope Valley, San Bernardino, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, Ventura County, Inland Empire-Orange County lines, and Arrow trains. Metrolink trains will not operate on the Riverside Line.
      • Metrolink and Arrow trains will be out of service for four days starting on Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 29. Service will resume with regularly scheduled train service on Saturday, December 30. While the trains rest, MetroLink works. They are making the most of the closure to clean, repair, and upgrade rail networks, including a new signal system that will provide better operational throughput and reliability in and out of Union Station for all trains.
      • On New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2024, Metrolink will operate its weekend schedule with service on the Antelope Valley, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, San Bernardino, Inland Empire-Orange County and Ventura County lines with a $10 Holiday Pass. Arrow will also offer its weekend schedule with the same Holiday Pass. Metrolink will offer special service to Union Station connecting to the Rose Parade on the Ventura County Line, Antelope Valley Line, Orange County Line, 91/Perris Valley Line, and the San Bernardino Line. For schedule information please visit metrolinktrains.com/rose-parade Regular weekday service will resume on Tuesday, January 2.
    • Culver City Bus
      • Culver City Bus will operate Sunday service on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
    • GTrans (City of Gardena)
      • GTrans will operate Weekend service on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
    • The following agencies will have no service on Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day:
