    Many agencies will operate a holiday or weekend schedule tomorrow, July 4th. See details below.

    The Greater Los Angeles area is hosting main amazing events, parades, fireworks, block parties, and more. Please expect traffic and limited parking.

    Service Schedules for July 4th

    METRO

    Metro bus, subway, and light rail will operate on a Sunday schedule. Several Metro bus routes are detoured due to July 4th events.

    LADOT 

    Commuter Express & DASH service

    There will be no Commuter Express and DASH service on Independence Day, (Tuesday, 7/4/23), except on the following routes, which will operate on holiday schedules:

    • Commuter Express 142
    • DASH Chesterfield Square
    • DASH El Sereno/City Terrace
    • DASH Observatory/Los Feliz **
      • **[Service to and from the Observatory will end at 8:00 PM- last trip to the Observatory leaves Vermont/Sunset Station at 8:00 PM; last trip from the Observatory leaves at 7:59 PM]
    • DASH Panorama City/Van Nuys
    • DASH Pico Union/Echo Park
    • DASH San Pedro
    • DASH Southeast
    • DASH Wilmington
    • DASH Wilshire Center/Koreatown

    Regular service will resume on ALL Commuter Express and DASH routes on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

    Big Blue Bus

    The agency will run a Weekend Schedule on July 4th. Several Bus routes will be detoured for July 4th events. 

    Riverside Transit Agency

    No service on July 4th.

    OmniTrans

    No service on July 4th.

     

    July 4th Events, Detours, and How to get there:

    Gloria Molina Grand Park – Downtown Los Angeles

    • When Tuesday, July 4
    • Where Gloria Molina Grand Park – 200 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
    • Time: 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
    • Detours: LADOT – Dash D will not be serving Main st & 2nd on July 3rd and 4th.
    • Metro: Take the B (Red) or D (Purple) Line subway to the Civic Center / Grand Park station or the A (Blue) or E (Expo) to Historic Broadway or Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station.

    4th of July Parade – San Gabriel

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Smith Park – 232 W. Broadway San Gabriel, CA 91776.
    • Time: de 9:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m.
    • Metro: Take bus 78 to Las Tunas/San Marino OR bus 487 to Ramona/Main.

    Fireworks at the Long Beach Waterfront

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Queensway Dr, Long Beach, CA 90802.
    • Time: since 9:00 p.m.
    • Metro: Take the A Line to Downtown Long Beach station.

    Marina Del Rey Firework Show

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Marina Del Rey, CA, 90292
    • Time: since 9:00 p.m.
    • Detours:
      • Metro Bus – Lines 108, 115, 115 will be detoured around the Marina area.
      • Big Blue Bus – Routes 3 and 18 will be on detour in Venice and Marina Del Rey

    Metro: Palisades 10K Run & July 4th Parade

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Pacific Palisades
    • Time: All-day events
    • Detours:
      • Metro Bus – Line 602 detoured on Sunset Blvd from Chautauqua to Temescal.
      • Big Blue Bus – Line 9 detoured on Sunset Blvd.
    • Metro: Take Metro Bus 602, or use Moovit to find routes from your location.

    LAFC vs Galaxy at Rose Bowl

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Rose Bowl
    • Time: 7:30 PM
    • Metro: Take the A Line and transfer to the Rose Bowl’s Shuttle
      • Take the A Line to Memorial Park Station in Old Pasadena.
      • Exit the station, turn right and walk down Holly Street for .4 miles to the free shuttle that leaves from the Parsons complex parking lot at Holly and Pasadena Avenue.
      • The shuttle bus is run by the Rose Bowl. Service begins three hours before the game (4:30 p.m.) and will run for 90 minutes after the match concludes, returning riders to the Parsons lot.
      • The last train back to downtown L.A. and Long Beach is 11:28 p.m.

    Santa Monica (Main Street) 4th of July parade

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Pico & Main St, Santa Monica
    • Time: 9:30 AM
    • Detours: Big Blue Bus: Routes 1, 2, 8, and 9 will be on detour in Santa Monica, between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m

    LAX Coastal City of Westchester 4th of July Parade

    • When: Tuesday, July 4
    • Where: Loyola Blvd & Westchester Park, Los Angeles, CA
    • Time: 11:00 AM
    • Detours: Big Blue Bus: Route 3 will be on detour in Westchester, between approximately 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m
