LA Metro – Bus shuttles to replace rail on B & D Lines between 7th/Metro & Union Station this weekend

March 27, 2025

Bus shuttles will replace trains on two sections of Metro Rail lines this weekend.

    B/D Line

Due to work to expand LA Metro’s subway rail yard in downtown LA, bus shuttles will replace the B and D Lines between 7th/Metro and Union Station from 5:45 a.m. on Friday, March 28, through the close of service on Sunday night (March 30).

Pershing Square and Civic Center/Grand Park stations will be entirely closed during the work and there will be no access to the subway platform at Union Station.

During this time, there will be regular B Line service between 7th/Metro and North Hollywood and regular D Line service between 7th/Metro and Wilshire/Western.

For rail service to downtown L.A. destinations, please consider using the A or E Lines.

Both the A and E Lines stop at Historic Broadway (Broadway & 2nd), Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill (Hope and 2nd streets) and Little Tokyo/Arts District (1st Street between Alameda and Central). The A Line also serves Union Station.  There will also be a free bus shuttle — Line 852 on the above map — that will run between Pershing Square and 7th/Metro stations during regular B Line service hours.

Thank you for your patience. LA Metro is working to expand our Division 20 rail yard in the Arts District so that it can accommodate more subway cars. This is important aspect of construction on all three sections of the D Line Extension between Wilshire/Western Station and Westwood. The first section to the Miracle Mile and Wilshire/La Cienega is forecast to open later this year.

    A LINE

Bus shuttles will replace A Line trains in Pasadena between Fillmore and Lake stations from 9 p.m. Friday, March 28, through the close of service on Sunday, March 30, for maintenance work.
