    LIRR

    Port Washington 

    All Trains Stop at Mets-Willets Point

    Far Rocakway 

    Trains Bypass Locust Manor, Laurelton, Rosedale

    • Sat 12:01 AM to Mon 4:00 AM, Sep 25 – Oct 18

    Trains will operate non-stop between Jamaica and Valley Stream on their regular schedules while we install longer-lasting concrete ties between Jamaica and Laurelton.

     

    Shuttle buses operate between Jamaica, Locust Manor, Laurelton, Rosedale, and Valley Stream, connecting with train service to points west at Jamaica and to points east at Valley Stream. Buses depart up to 45 minutes earlier than normal train times.

    Long Beach 

    Trains Bypass Locust Manor, Laurelton, Rosedale

    Trains will operate non-stop between Jamaica and Valley Stream on their regular schedules while we install longer-lasting concrete ties between Jamaica and Laurelton.

    West Hempstead 

    Trains Extended to Jamaica and Bypass Valley Stream

    • Sat and Sun, 6:30 AM to 11:30 PM, Sep 25 – Oct 17

    West Hempstead Branch trains are extended to/from Jamaica while we install longer-lasting concrete ties between Jamaica and Laurelton. Trains operate non-stop between Jamaica and Westwood, bypassing Valley Stream in both directions.

    NJ TRANSIT ANNOUNCES SPECIAL RAIL SERVICE FOR FAR HILLS RACE MEETING

    Customers Strongly Encouraged to Purchase Roundtrip Tickets in Advance

    NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT is offering special rail service between Hoboken and Far Hills to transport customers to and from the 100th running of the Far Hills Race Meeting on Saturday, October 16.  NJ TRANSIT’s Far Hills Station on the Gladstone Branch of the Morris & Essex Lines is located directly across the street from Moorland Farms, the site of the event. (Please note that on October 16, the Gladstone Branch will only provide rail service to/from the Far Hills Race Meeting. At all other times, Lakeland bus service will replace Gladstone Branch trains.)
    IMPORTANT NOTE: For this special event, customers are advised that NO BEVERAGES INCLUDING ALCOHOL, OPEN OR CLOSED, WILL BE PERMITTED on any train, bus or platform to and from Far Hills on Saturday, October 16. This policy will be strictly enforced.
    To avoid lines, customers are strongly encouraged to purchase round-trip tickets in advance. Customers boarding at Far Hills on October 16 without a valid ticket or pass will be required to purchase a special ticket prior to boarding the train for $20.  The special ticket is valid until 11:59 p.m. on October 16 only for travel between Far Hills and any NJ TRANSIT rail station.
    Customers are required to wear masks while inside waiting rooms and on board all public transit vehicles regardless of physical distance through January 18, 2022 per the Transit Security Administration’s (TSA’s) federal directive. 
    On October 16, ticket offices will be open during regular hours at Hoboken, Summit and Dover. The ticket office at Lyons will have special operating hours on October 16. Temporary ticket booths will be set up at Berkeley Heights, Bernardsville, Far Hills and Gladstone with special operating hours. See www.njtransit.com for specific times.

    Schedule highlights for October 16 include:

    • As is normal with travel to/from special events, capacity on trains can vary depending on when customers choose to travel. Customers should allow additional travel time and be patient if they cannot board the first train they encounter.
    • Traveling to Far Hills:
      • Trains will depart Hoboken at least once per hour from 7:31 a.m. until 11:20 a.m., with more frequent service between 8:39 a.m. and 10:35 a.m.
      • Trains will depart Summit at least once per hour from 8:14 a.m. until 1:14 p.m., with more frequent service from approximately 9:10 a.m. until approximately 11:20 a.m.
    • Traveling from Far Hills:
      • From 3:59 p.m. until 7:03 p.m., Gladstone Branch train service will operate from Far Hills.
      • Trains may depart Far Hills as they are filled, but the last train of the day will not depart Far Hills before 7:03 p.m.
    • There will be no rail service to or from the Peapack and Gladstone stations. Frequent shuttle bus service (operated by Lakeland Bus Company) will operate between Gladstone, Peapack and Far Hills throughout the day. Buses will operate at least every 30 minutes but may operate more frequently if customer demand warrants.
    • Outside the times shown above, Lakeland buses replace Gladstone Branch rail service between Gladstone and Summit.
