The Coronation Weekend Travel Advice
All TfL transport networks will be running with no planned engineering closures on Saturday 6 May. Night Tube and Night Overground services will be running on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 May.
There will be some changes to bus service routes and times, especially in central London, as there will be road closures for the event.
Advice for visitors
If you are planning to visit London for the Coronation:
- The main Network Rail stations in London are: Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Euston, King’s Cross, Liverpool Street, London Bridge, Marylebone, Paddington, London St Pancras, Victoria and Waterloo
- Tube and rail are a good way of getting around the capital
Saturday 6 May (Coronation Day)
Walking to viewing areas
If you travel into London by National Rail, consider walking to the viewing areas if you are able to.

- There will be limited access to the procession route from Victoria station. If you arrive at Victoria, you may be directed to Hyde Park for screening sites
Sunday 7 May
Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle
- The Tube will stop running before midnight
- If you are returning to London by train, check last trains and use buses, taxis and minicabs

- Allow more time for your journey
- Public transport is likely to be busier
- There are road closures and changes to how buses run in central London
- If your destination is not in central London, you will have a quicker and more comfortable journey if you do not travel via central London

Bus
Saturday 6 May
- Some bus routes in the Westminster area will be diverted or will stop short of their destination
Tube
Tube trains will run normally over the weekend. On Friday 5 and Saturday 6 May Night Tube and Night Overground services will run.
Saturday 6 May
- Short-term safety measures such as queuing, closures, trains non-stopping or changes to the way people enter or exit a station are likely to be necessary, especially in central London
- Some stations are expected to be very busy, including Westminster, Green Park, Charing Cross, Embankment, Victoria, Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Temple and Marble Arch stations.
- St James’s Park station will be closed – it will re-open when it is safe to do so
- Hyde Park Corner will be exit-only – it will fully open when it is safe to do so
Sunday 7 May
- London Underground services will end at usual Sunday times (before midnight)
- There is no Night Tube tonight
- If you are returning to London after the concert at Windsor, plan your journey in advance
