Major traffic disruptions in Jerusalem🚫

    Starting January 22nd – 24th, the International Holocaust Committee will take place in Jerusalem. Therefore,  major traffic disruptions are expected as follows:

     

    📅 Wednesday 22.1

    During the daytime, specific closures are expected in Jerusalem in King David and President’s Residence area.

    Affected bus lines: 7, 13, 18, 30a, 34, 38, 49, 71, 72, 74, 75, 78, 78a, 83a

     

    📅 Thursday 23.1

     

    Starting 07:45 to 22:00, the following closures are expected:

     

    🛣 Highway 1 closure

    Starting in the morning time, Highway 1 will be closed alternately. Intercity bus lines will go to Jerusalem via road 443 and will return to their regular route when closures are finished. Buses from Beit Shemesh, Mevasseret Tzion, and Jerusalem corridor will be postponed during this closure.

     

    Affected lines:

     

    🚌 Buses to Jerusalem from nearby cities

     

    The following lines will operate as follows:

     

    • Maale Adumim lines will operate to Givat Ha’tachmoshet (Rakal station)
    • Binyamin lines (rock proof buses) will terminate at Givat Ha’tachmoshet (Rakal station)
    • Binyamin lines (bullet proof buses) will terminate at Pisgat Ze’ev (Pisgat Ze’ev Mall station)
    • Gush Etzion lines, South Hebron, Tzur Hadassah (via Rd. 60) will terminate at Malha Mall (A.S Beitar st.)
    • Beitar Illit lines: will not reach the city entrance and will go from Malha (Begin Rd.) to Golda Meir avenue, Shefa Haim, Shamgar and will return back to Yermiahu street. Beitar Illit lines to Har Bof via Bait ve Gan will skip Bait ve Gan.
    • Beit Shemesh lines, Mevasseret Tzion and Jerusalem corridor cities will operate as usual except during the delegations passing in Highway 1.
    • Givat Zeev & Modi’in lines: will terminate at Yermiahu/Shamgar Junction and will not reach the Central Station.
    • Modi’in Illit lines will operate as usual.

    🚌 Inner-city lines

     

    During day time, inner-city lines will be directed to alternative routes, as follows:

    🚆 Night train changes 

    In addition to the mentioned above, Starting Thursday, 23.1.2020, until further notice there will be NO late night or Friday service in select stations. Mon-Thu from 22:30 to 04:30 and on Fridays during all service hours. (Saturday and Sunday service will not be affected) The expected changes can be found here
