Tel Aviv Samsung Marathon (25/2) – All you need to know 🚍

Dear riders.

On Friday, February 25, the ‘Samsung’ marathon in Tel Aviv will take place 🏃‍♀️. Moovit is updated with the latest changes that are being published by the bus operators and the Ministry of Transportation.

The event will begin at 06:00 and end at around 13:30. The marathon will start and end on Rokach Boulevard, between Ganei Yehoshua and Expo Tel Aviv.

During the event, many roads in Tel Aviv will be closed, Israel Railways will add service, and bus lines will change their routes.

🚧 Road Closures

North: Glilot Junction, Unitzman, 2040, Levy Eshkol and Shai Agnon.

East: Begin/Namir Street heading west on the following streets: Bnei Efraim, Rokach Blvd., Pinkas, Arlozorov, Kaplan, and Ha’Rakevet.

West: Herbert Samuel and Kaufman.

South: The following routes heading North: Jerusalem Blvd. from Ben Zvi, Elifelet from Kibbutz Galuyot, Kaufman/Hayarkon from Eilat Street, Herzl from Derech Jaffa Street, and Allenby from Menachem Begin

 

Namir Road will be closed from 08:00 to 11:00 between the Glilot Junction and Shlomo Goren (Halacha) in both directions.

Note: Road 20 (Ayalon) will be open throughout the marathon to north and south.


🚆  Ride to the marathon with Israel Railways 

On the marathon day, electrification works will be delayed, to allow the marathon participants to reach easily the race starting point located near the ‘Tel Aviv University’ train station. In addition, operating hours will be extended at many stations, along with special reinforcement trains that will operate:

  • The Haifa Merkaz Hashmona- Tel Aviv Hagana line will operate from 04:30 (approx.) until 13:30 (approx.), with a frequency of one train per hour, in each direction via Haifa Bat Galim, Haifa Hof Hacarmel, Binyamina, Hadera West, Netanya, Beit Yehoshua, Herzliya, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv Savidor, Tel Aviv Hashalom, and Tel Aviv Hagana (last stop) stations.
  • The Herzliya – Tel Aviv – Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan – Ashkelon line – will be increased with two special trains:
  1. A train will operate from Herzliya station at 04:50 and will go via the following stations: Raanana West, Kfar Saba Nordau, Rosh HaAyin North, Petah Tikva, Petah Tikva Kiryat Arie, Bnei Brak, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv Savidor Center, Tel Aviv Hashalom, Tel Aviv Hagana, Holon Junction, Holon Wolfson, Bat Yam Yoseftal, Bat Yam Komemiyut, Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan, Yavne West, Ashdod Ad Halom and Ashkelon (last stop).
  2. A late train will depart from Herzliya station at 13:12 and will go via the following stations: Raanana West, Kfar Saba Nordau, Rosh HaAyin North, Petah Tikva, Petah Tikva Kiryat Arie, Bnei Brak, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv Savidor Center, Tel Aviv Hashalom, Tel Aviv Hagana, Holon Junction, Holon Wolfson, Bat Yam Yoseftal, Bat Yam Komemiyut, Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan, Yavne West, Ashdod to Halom and Ashkelon (last stop).

During the  marathon hours, many roads in the city will be closed, and following bus lines will change their routes:
