Red Line

Station Issue ONGOING

The Hancock Street lot is closed to allow for the construction of the North Quincy Garage. As an alternative, over 300 spaces are available in the Newport Avenue lot. MBTA.com/NorthQuincy

The Braintree and Quincy Adams parking garages are closed through Spring 2021 for accelerated concrete replacement work.

Both stations have surface parking lots available. Riders can continue to use PayByPhone or pay-by-plate with the same parking fees as other MBTA surface lots.

A shuttle train will run on the southbound track between Wellington and Community College all day on weekends from February 20 – March 7. More: MBTA.com/OLwork

A shuttle train will run back and forth on the southbound track between Wellington and Community College. Customers will switch trains at Wellington and Community College to continue their trip. If you need assistance, please see station personnel.

Beginning March 15 through April 9, all trains will single track through Wellington on the southbound side all day Mon – Thurs, and until 8:45 PM on Friday. Customers will board all trains on the southbound platform. MBTA.com/OLwork

Green Line B

Station Closure

Pleasant Street station will be permanently closed on Sat, Feb 27, as part of the B Branch Station Consolidation project. Passengers can board at either Babcock St or St Paul St while this work is taking place.

Fitchburg Line

Shuttle

On weekdays, March 1-May 2, buses will replace all Fitchburg Line trains between Littleton/495 & Alewife for a connection with the Red Line while we upgrade the signal system for Positive Train Control (PTC). A dedicated bus schedule will be in effect. MBTA.com/FBGwork

There will be no service at Silver Hill, Hastings, Porter Square or North Station.
Porter Square passengers may connect to the Red Line for travel to or from Boston.
Shuttle buses are free and accessible but bikes will not be allowed on board buses.There will be 2 bus options:
-one express service between Alewife and South Acton
-one service making all local stops between Alewife and Littleton
Please note that additional weekdays may be added to the bus diversion as work progresses on the Fitchburg Line.
There is no weekend service on the Fitchburg Line.

Greenbush Line

Haverhill Line

Starting on Saturday, January 23, and until further notice, there will be no weekend train service on the Haverhill Line.

For weekend service between Haverhill and North Station, consider the Amtrak Downeaster. 4 round trips options on Saturdays and Sundays.

Alternative options to or from Haverhill:
MVRTA network connects Haverhill to Newburyport. From Haverhill Station, board Bus #01 or #16 to Washington Square Transit Center (or walk for 0.3 miles) and board Bus #51 to Nicholas J. Costello Transportation Center, Amesbury. From there, connection to Bus #54 for Newburyport Station.

MVRTA also provides service to Lowell:
Board Bus #1 from Washington Square Transit Center to Buckley Transportation Center for a connection with Bus #41 to Lowell.

Other options on the Haverhill Line:
MBTA Bus #136 and Bus #137 connect Reading, Wakefield, Greenwood, Melrose Highlands, Melrose/cedar Park and Wyoming Hill station to the Orange Line at Malden Center.

LRTA Bus #13 (Billerica via Edson) provides service to North Billerica and then connects to MBTA BUS #350 at Burlington for a connection to the Red Line at Alewife.
LRTA also provides a shuttle bus pilot that departs Gallagher Terminal at 6:30 am on Saturdays and connects with MBTA Bus #350 at Burlington for service to Alewife
LRTA Bus #12 (Tewksbury via Route 38) provides service to Wilmington.-Alternative travel option to or from Anderson/Woburn Station:

Station Closure

Due to concerns about deteriorating structural conditions on the pedestrian overpass at South Attleboro Station on the Providence/Stoughton Line, the station has been closed effective Friday, February 26, 2021 and until further notice.

Passengers should consider Attleboro Station as an alternative. Thank you for your understanding.
