MCO 3.0 (Total Lockdown) starts Tomorrow

May 31, 2021

The Movement Control Order (Total Lockdown) will start tomorrow.

Following the recent spike in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and number of death, which pushes our national health systems beyond its capacity. The government had announced that starting from tomorrow, a total lockdown will be implemented to protect our healthcare systems from collapsing.

The whole country will be affected.

    Will Public Transport Services Affected?

Similar to previously announced SOP, most service providers, namely Rapid Bus & Rapid Rail had announced that service will be reduced and adjusted from time to time based on demand. The National Security Council also announced that public transport vehicles (trains and buses) can only carry up to 50% of their capacity. Operators may be required to refuse to board whenever the vehicle had reached its maximum passenger permitted which will be shown on the front of the buses.

Service reduction has also been announced by the following service providers:

    Express Rail Link

Service is reduced to every 60minutes on both Weekdays and Weekends. The last train will be departing both KLIA 2 & KL Sentral at 10.10 pm.

    KTM Komuter Service

KTM had further reduced its Weekdays service to 32 trips on Seremban Line (Batu Caves – Pulau Sebang/Tampin), & 62 trips on Port Klang Line (Tanjung Malim – Port Klang); During Weekends and National Holidays, service is also reduced to 18 trips on Seremban Line (Batu Caves – Pulau Sebang/Tampin), & 30 trips on Port Klang Line (Tanjung Malim – Port Klang).

Rapid Rail (MRT, LRT, & Monorail)

RapidRail had also announced the reduction in service frequency on all its network, mainly LRT Ampang & Sri Petaling Line, MRT Kajang Line & KL Monorail Line as below.

    DaysTimeFrequency
    Weekdays0600 to 0700Every 30 Minutes
    0700 to 0900Every 10 Minutes
    0900 to 1000Every 30 Minutes
    1000 to 1700Every 60 Minutes
    1700 to 1900Every 10 Minutes
    1900 to 2300Every 30 Minutes
    Weekends & National Holidays0600 to 1000Every 30 Minutes
    1000 to 1700Every 60 Minutes
    1700 to 2300Every 30 Minutes

How long will I have to wait for my bus/train?

As MCO prohibits cross-district travel & Work From Home Order is in effect, it is likely that the number of passengers will fall throughout this period and operators will be required to adjust their service frequency based on demand.

Apart from this, we support real-time arrival information on KTM Komuter, Rapidbus (RapidKL, GoKL Buses, selected PJ City Bus, selected Smart Selangor routes). Real-time arrival information on KTM is available 60minutes from departure while Rapidbus real-time available once the bus had started its journey from the terminal station.

Note: Only travel if you absolutely needed. If you happen to be working on the list of essential sectors allowed to operate during the total lockdown, make sure that you have relevant documentation by the respective ministry with you when you travel. Permit will be required if you travel beyond 10km radius of your residence.
