Metro Detours, Alerts & Service Updates

    Metrorail Modified Weeknight Service October 26-30

    Continuing through Friday, October 30, 2020, Metrorail will open at 5 a.m. and close at 11 p.m., serving all 91 stations. Trains will operate on a normal schedule on all six lines.

    After 10 p.m. trains will single track on the Yellow and Green lines between U Street and Georgia Ave-Petworth, with no impact on scheduled service frequencies.

    • Red Line Trains run every 12-15 minutes
    • Blue, Orange, Silver Trains run every 15-20 minutes
    • Yellow, Green Line service run every 15-20 minutes

    Metrorail Modified Weekend Service October 31 – November 1

    • During the weekend of October 31 through November 1, Metrorail will operate from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, serving 90 of 91 stations.
    • Trains will run normal frequencies on the Green and Yellow lines, with service adjustments on the Blue, Orange, Silver, and Red lines due to scheduled maintenance.
    • Red Line Trains run every 12-15 minutes. Brookland and Fort Totten (upper-level platform) closed.
    • Blue, Orange, Silver Trains every 24 minutes
    • Yellow, Green Line service run every 15-20 minutes
