MTA Enforcing Masks For Your Safety

MTA COVID service updates

🧼The MTA cleaning operation is running 24/7. Disinfecting trains, buses, and stations more frequently

👮 Starting Monday September 15, 2020 MTA will be enforcing riders to wear masks while riding public transportation.
This is to ensure the safety of both riders and MTA workers.
Riders who refuse to wear a mask could get a $50 fine.

“Wearing a mask is the law, and it’s the right thing to do.

Enforcement officers will issue a fine as a last resort. They’ll first offer you a free mask and if you refuse, you could be issued a fine.

If you don’t have a mask, stop by a subway station booth or ask a LIRR or Metro-North station ambassador for a free one.” – MTA
