MTA Announces Service Changes in Rides to Wellness and Fixed Route Services

March 27, 2020

The Mass Transportation Authority has been informed an employee in its Rides to Wellness program has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. Two other employees have been tested and are awaiting results. As a result of this information, Rides to Wellness will be suspending all Rides to Wellness operations effective March 25th through at least Monday, April 13th. Due to the possibility of exposure to the virus, we have asked all Rides to Wellness employees to self-quarantine for the next 14 days. During this period of closure, MTA will be working with a professional services cleaning company to disinfect and sanitize all Rides to Wellness vehicles and facilities.

On MTA’s fixed route services, effective Monday, March 30, all fixed routes will move to an hourly schedule. Monday through Saturday, service will run once per hour beginning at the downtown transfer center at 6:30am and running until 11:30pm (last bus departing downtown at 10:30pm). Sunday service hours will remain the same. All fourteen fixed routes will remain operational on the hourly service.

“As it has for the entire Country, this has been a challenging time for MTA. We regret having to make a decision to reduce any of our services as we know the community depends on us. However, the safety of our employees and passengers is of the utmost priority,” said General Manager/CEO, Ed Benning.

We thank the community for your support and understanding
