COVID-19 Updates: What to Know About MTA Service

SUBWAY

2 and 3 trains will continue to bypass the 110th St Central Park North station at all times. Through this week, there will be additional service changes on the 2 and 3 lines overnight while we make urgent repairs.

B, C, W, and Z service is not running.

Alternatives:

B: Use D and Q service instead.
C: Use A or E local service or D service instead.
W: Use N and R service instead.
Z: Use J service instead.

The 42 St Shuttle between Times Square and Grand Central will stop running after about 9:45 p.m. on Friday, April 3. Use 7 service instead.

L service: Read more about service alternatives during the L Project, included extended M service.

Branch service that’s not operating

Staten Island Railway

Staten Island Railway service runs hourly.

This will connect you with the further-reduced ferry schedule. Trains are scheduled to arrive at St. George Terminal about 15 minutes before the ferry leaves. Trains to Tottenville are scheduled to leave about 10 minutes after the ferry arrives.

Bus service

Buses are operating on a reduced schedule because of decreased crew availability. MTA is strategically supplementing some bus service to help prevent overcrowding.

Changes to how you ride

Subways
You can only make MetroCard transactions at MetroCard Vending machines. This helps limit person-to-person contact for our station agents. Reduced-fare cash transactions can still be made at the booth.

Buses
There is a new rear-door boarding policy to keep riders and operators at a safe distance.

Board local and SBS buses through the back door. Riders who need the ramp can board through the front door and use the priority seats. Express bus customers will still board through the front door.
