Metrorail Weekday Service Updates (August 28th – August 30th):
- Red Line – Trains every 6-10 minutes – Free local shuttles replace trains between Takoma & Glenmont, with Express shuttles continuing to operate from Fort Totten (skipping Takoma). Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen, & Silver Spring stations are closed. Regular Service between Shady Grove & Takoma Stations
- Blue, Orange & Silver Lines – Trains every 10-15 minutes
- Yellow & Green Lines – Trains every 6-8 minutes
Metrobus Service Updates:
- Route 70 Detour Beginning Thursday, August 29th, until Saturday, September 21st – buses toward Silver Spring detouring on 7th St NW at E St, resuming regular route on 7th St NW at L St. while buses toward Archives detouring on 7th St NW at K St, resuming regular route on 7th St NW at Constitution Ave.
- Routes 32, 36 & P6 will detour from 5 AM until 8 PM because of the Washington Chinese Culture Festival 2024 on On Saturday, August 31st – Streets will close on both Constitution Ave & Pennsylvania Ave between 3rd & 4th ST NW

Montgomery County Ride-On
- Ride On is running on a regular schedule
Arlington Transit
- The Westbound temporary bus stop at Columbia Pike & S George Mason Dr will relocate to Columbia Pike & S Quincy St affecting Route 41 until November 19th due to construction
Alexandria DASH Bus
- Route 35 is operating with delays Wednesday, August 28th
- Please plan ahead accordingly
Hampton Roads Transit
- Due to the Virginia Beach 10 Miler & 5K, from August 31st until September 1st Routes 20, 30, 31, 33, 35, and 960 will be affected
- Beginning at 6 AM until completion of the race, Atlantic Ave between 22nd St & Rudee Loop as well as Pacific Ave between 22nd St & 15th St will be closed.
MTA/MDOT
Local Bus:
- All routes will be running on a regular schedule
- Local Bus 93 stops at the fairgrounds on Greenspring Dr close to the Light Rail
Commuter Bus:
- All routes will be running on a regular schedule
Light RailLink:
- All routes will be running on a regular schedule
- Light Rail service to the State Fair will operate on a 5 AM to Midnight Weekdays (M-F), 6 AM to Midnight on Saturdays & 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM Sunday & Labor Day
Metro SubwayLink:
- All routes will be running on a regular schedule
MARC Train:
- There will be no MARC Train service on Monday, September 2nd due to Labor Day. Regular service will resume on September 3.
- Penn Line will operate weekend regular service on August 31 & September 1.
