Johor commuters, rejoice! Beating the peak-hour gridlock just got a whole lot easier. KTMB is officially launching the highly anticipated Komuter Shuttle Selatan service from 16 June 2026 (Tuesday), giving you a fast, reliable, and affordable way to travel to and from Johor Bahru, and/or connecting with buses or Shuttle Tebrau into Singapore!
Whether you are commuting for work, heading back to school, or visiting family, you can now skip the traffic jams entirely.
π What You Need to Know
The new service introduces two major routes designed to connect key hubs across the region:
JB Sentral β Kulai: Cut your peak-hour travel time in half! What usually takes over an hour by car through heavy traffic will now take just 30 minutes via the Komuter trains.
Kempas Baru β Pasir Gudang: For the first time in 40 years, this line is opening up to passenger trains! It will offer a massive relief for residents travelling between Kempas and Pasir Gudang.
Operations kick off early with the first train departing at 4:45 AM from Kulai and the last train at 8:30 PM from JB Sentral.
