New Service Changes & Schedule Info.

    MDOT/MTA

    On Sunday, July 12, 2020, the following service will be in effect:

    Local Bus

    • Regular Summer weekday/weekend schedule
    • Express Bus service and LocalLinks 38 and 92 will remain suspended
    • Boarding: Front-door boarding will resume
    • Operators may bypass stops to limit crowding on buses

    Light RailLink and Metro SubwayLink 

    • Regular weekday/weekend schedules

    Commuter Bus

    • Starting on Monday, July 13, 2020, the following Commuter Bus routes will begin operating regular full service – 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 310, 320, 411, 420, 505, 515, 610, 620, 650, 705, 715, 820, 830, and 840.

    WMATA

    Metrobus

    • Metrobus is operating a modified ‘Sunday schedule’ on most routes during weekday service which provides connectivity throughout the region for essential trips, but with sharply reduced bus frequencies

    • Metrobus will operate significantly reduced bus service this weekend maintaining a core network of 28 “lifeline” bus routes.

    Metrorail

    • Weekday Service includes Red Line Trains every 15 minutes and Orange, Blue, Yellow, and Green Line Trains every 20 minutes
    • Weekend Service includes Red Line Trains every 20 minutes and Orange, Blue, Yellow, and Green Line Trains every 30 minutes
    •  Arlington Cemetery station remains closed until further notice
    • All nine Orange and Silver line stations west of Ballston-MU are currently closed and no Silver Line trains are operating in the Metrorail system
    • Silver Line stations between Ballston-MU and Largo Town Center are being served by Orange and/or Blue Line trains

    July 6-18, 2020

    Work zone: Green Line/Yellow Line – U Street to Fort Totten
    Stations closed: Columbia Heights and Georgia Ave-Petworth

    Customer impact:

    • Free shuttle buses replace trains between U Street and Fort Totten (lower level) stations, with stops at Columbia Heights and Georgia Ave-Petworth stations
    • Yellow Line trains will operate between Huntington and U Street ONLY. Use Green Line for service to/from stations north of Fort Totten
    • Consider using Red Line as an alternate when traveling between Fort Totten and Gallery Place-Chinatown
