Travel in the North West 

    Merseyside Bus Diversions

    There are disruptions occurring in the following areas, resulting in diversions in these bus routes:

    • Acre Lane (Bromborough) – Routes 38, 38A and 38B are affected.
      • Acre Lane will be closed, between Dawpool Drive and Ashfield Crescent, from Monday 9 September 2019 until further notice.

     

    • Brownlow Hill (city centre) – Routes 7, 14/14A, 61, 79/79D and 79C are affected.
      • Brownlow Hill will be closed (inbound), near Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, from Monday 6 January 2020 for approximately 4 weeks.

     

    • Boyes Brow (Kirkby) – Routes 14 and 133 are affected.
      • Boyes Brow will be closed, at County Road and Bank Lane, from Monday 6 January 2020 for approximately 3 months.

     

    • Boyes Brow (Kirkby) – Routes 14 and 133 are affected.
      • Boyes Brow will be closed, at County Road and Bank Lane, from Monday 6 January 2020 for approximately 3 months.

     

    • Chinese New Year (city centre) – Routes82, City Explorer and City Sightseer are affected.
      • Berry Street, Great George Street, Duke Street and Upper Duke Street will be closed to facilitate Chinese New Year celebrations on Sunday 26 January 2020 from 0600 until 2200.

     

    • Cumber Lane (Whiston) – Routes 239, 248 and 686 are affected.
      • ​​Cumber Lane will be closed, at Stoney Lane, from Monday 6 January 2020, for approximately 3 months.

     

    • Dover Road (Maghull) – Route 33 is affected.
      • Dover Road will be closed (eastbound), between Northway and Moorland Road, from Tuesday 21 January 2020 for approximatley 3 weeks.

     

    • Grove Street (city centre) – Routes 76, 201 and 699 are affected.
      • ​​Grove Street will be closed overnight, between Brownlow Hill and Myrtle Street, from Monday 6 January 2020 for approximately 13 nights, from 1900 to 0600 each night.

     

    • Edge Lane and Buckley Hill Lane (Netherton) – Route 63 is affected.
      • ​​Edge Lane will be closed, at Buckley Hill Lane; and Buckley Hill Lane will be closed, at Edge Lane, from Monday 20 January 2020 for approximately 5 nights, from 1900 to 0600 each night.

     

    • Elephant Lane (Thatto Heath) – Route 33 and 920 are affected.
      • ​​Elephant Lane will be closed, between Manley Close and Poynter Street, on Thursday 23 January 2020 from 1900 until 2200.

     

    • Higher Lane (Rainford) – Routes 38A, 152 and 157 are affected.
      • Higher Lane will be closed, at Mill Lane, from Thursday 19 December 2019 until further notice.

     

    • Orrell Lane (Orrell Park) – Route 61/61A is affected.
      • Due to restrictions on Orrell Lane, between Rice Lane and Moss Lane, buses will be diverted until further notice.

     

    Manchester

    • Major roadworks are taking place on Great Ancoats Street until the end of 2020. This affects the 74, 76, 76A, 83, 84, 114, 181, 182, 216, 217, 230 and 231 services.
    • M56 Junction 5 entry and exit slip roads are closed until Sunday 8 March. This affects the 199 and X30 services.
    • Ringway Road has a one-way closure in the eastbound direction until Tuesday 25 February. This affects the 368A.
    • Middlewood Street and Hampson Street are closed until Saturday 1 February. This affects the 33 service.
    • Temporary traffic signals and lane closures will be in place at the junction of Station Road, Chorley Road and Partington Lane from Monday 20 January for 10 weeks. This will affect the 2, 27, 29, 36, 37, 38, 66, 70, 73, 79, 484 and X39 services.
    • Thorley Lane at Manchester Airport will be closed from Monday 27 January for five weeks. This will affect the 103 and X30 services.
    • Ruddpark Road, Wythenshawe will be closed at its junction with Portway from Monday 20 January for four days. This will affect the 11, 43, 101, 368A, 716 and 751 services.
    • Lancaster Road will be closed from 9.30am on Friday 17 January for three days. This will affect the 27, 29 and 65 services.
    • A lane closure is in place on Old Mill Street, from Vesta Street to Great Ancoats Street, until Wednesday 29 January. This affects the 217 service.
    • Bailey Lane / Selsted Road is closed until Monday 17 February. This affects the 43 and 103 services.
    • Alexandra Road closed Claremont Road to Moss Lane from Tuesday 21 January to Friday 24 January. In addition, it will also be closed at the junction of Chichester Road and Moss Lane 25 and 26 January. This closure will take place from 9am to 3.30pm each day. The 85, 85A and 86 services will be affected.

    Bolton

    • Brownlow Road in Horwich is closed until Thursday 23 January. This affects the 577 service.

     

    Oldham

    • Thornham Road, Shaw, is closed between 8am and 6pm until Wednesday 22 January. This affects the 403 and 408 services.
    • A northbound lane closure is in place on Broadway until Tuesday 21 January. This affects the 419 and 837 services.
    • Bridge Street will be closed at the junction of Uppermill Road closed on Sunday 26 January from 8am to 3pm. This will affect the 355 service.

    Salford

    • Lane closures and bus stand upgrades are taking place at Pendleton Shopping Centre, along Hankinson Way. This scheme is expected to last until late 2020. Bus stops A, B, C, D, H, J, K and L are affected. The 10, 27, 29, 34, 37, 38, 50, 52, 53, 67, 70, 73, 74, 75, 79, 95 and 100 services are affected.

     

    Stockport

    • Didsbury Road will be closed at Crescent Park Junction from 8pm on Friday 17 January to 6am on Sunday 19 January. This affects the 23, 43, 44 and 197 services.

     

    Trafford

    • Bus stops along Cross Street, Sale will be closed until Tuesday 21 January. This affects the 18, 245, 262, 263, 272, 756, 757, 758, 764, 770, 789 and 790 services.
