    Manchester Metrolink Weekend Update


    Network Rail engineering works are taking place at Victoria from 11:50pm Saturday 30 March until 8am Sunday 31 March.

    No tram service will run between Victoria and Bury/Central Park from Saturday 11:50pm to 8am Sunday due to Network Rail engineering work at Victoria.

    Manchester Airport and East Didsbury services will terminate at Deansgate-Castlefield where customers can make connections via bus replacement services.

    City Line

    Monday 1 to Thursday 4 April

    The 2218 Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street service will not call at Bryn, Garswood, Thatto Heath, Eccleston Park, Prescot and Edge Hill.
    The 2235 Wilmslow to Liverpool Lime Street service will terminate at Manchester Oxford Road.
    The 2331 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria service will not run.
    Rail replacement buses will be provided.

    Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 April

    The 0338 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport service will depart at 0328 and run via an alternative route to Manchester Piccadilly.

    Monday 1 to Thursday 4 April

    The 2100 Newcastle to Liverpool Lime Street is diverted to terminate at Manchester Piccadilly with a replacement coach provided forward to Newton-le-Willows, Lea Green and Liverpool Lime Street.

    Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 April

    The 0520 Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle departs Liverpool earlier at 0507. This train will be diverted and will not call at Lea Green, Newton-le-Willows or Manchester Victoria but will call additionally at Manchester Piccadilly (0550) and Stalybridge (0607).

     

    Wirral Line

    Phase 7 of the platform upgrade work continues on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines until Tuesday 2 April. The normal timetable will resume on Wednesday 3 April. There will be rail replacement buses running between Chester and Hooton calling at all stations. Passengers can board trains at Hooton to complete their onward journey.

    There will be timetable alterations for trains to and from Hooton and on the Ellesmere Port line. Six car trains will run where possible and there is free car parking at many Merseyrail stations, including 109 spaces at Ellesmere Port.

    If you are travelling to or from Capenhurst station there will be a 30 minute rail replacement bus service.
