New York – July 4th Service Changes

    July 4th is tomorrow, and many agencies are operating holiday or weekend service. Check below for details. MTA is offering extended service on the Rockaway Park Shuttle for those headed to the beach and on the 7 and the 42 St S Shuttle in the evening for those heading back from Macy’s Fireworks display.

    Agency’s July 4th Service

    MTA:

    • MTA Subway will operate on a Saturday Schedule
      • Full-length trains will operate on the Rockaway Park Shuttle to accommodate increased ridership to the beach
      • Between approximately 9:00 a.m and 9:00 p.m. Rockaway Park Shuttle trains will extend service to operate between Rockaway Blvd and Rockaway Park, stopping at Aqueduct, Aqueduct Racetrack, and Howard Beach – JFK Airport stations
      • To accommodate increased ridership to the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks display, service will be bolstered on the 7 and the 42 St S Shuttle in the evening
    • MTA Bus will operate on a Saturday schedule
    • Staten Island Railway will operate on a Saturday schedule
    • LIRR will operate on a summer Sunday schedule
      • The 12:13 p.m. train from Jamaica Station will not make a stop at Hampton Bays; an alternate bus service will be provided.
    • Metro-North Railroad will operate on a Sunday schedule with two extra trains on the New Haven line and one extra train on the Port Jervis line.

    NJ Transit:

    •  Trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule on all lines. Additionally, Port Jervis Line Train 88 (4:05PM departure from Port Jervis, 5:38PM departure from Suffern, express to Secaucus/Hoboken) will operate.
    • Northern and Central New Jersey bus routes will operate on a Saturday or Sunday schedule.
    • Southern New Jersey bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedulee.

    PATH:

    • Trains will operate on a Saturday Schedule.
    • Journal Square-33 Street (via Hoboken) and Newark-World Trade Center lines in service.

    NICE Bus:

    • Buses will operate on a Sunday Schedule.

    Bee-Line Bus:

    • Buses will operate on a Sunday Schedule.
