    Monday, November 9: New Timetables in Effect

    New timetables take effect on Monday, November 9.  The new timetables contain Peak and Off-Peak service adjustments to accommodate track work, infrastructure improvements and efforts to address service impacts from fall leaf season. Additional changes have been made in response to customer requests. Changes include:

    Far Rockaway Branch
    The Friday-only 3:13 PM eastbound train from Jamaica to Far Rockaway resumes operation for the winter with an added stop at Rosedale (3:21 PM), arriving Far Rockaway at 3:46 PM. Connecting trains depart Penn Station at 2:51 PM and Atlantic Terminal at 2:35 PM.

    Montauk Branch
    Regular midday service has been restored following the completion of trackwork.

    Port Jefferson Branch
    Weekdays (midday)

    • Westbound trains will depart Huntington 21 minutes earlier than in the Sept. 8-Nov. 8 timetable.
    • Eastbound trains will depart Penn Station 11 minutes earlier than in the Sept. 8-Nov. 8 timetable.

    Weekends

    • The 6:10 AM westbound train from Huntington to Penn Station will depart 6 minutes earlier, at 6:04 AM.
    • Westbound trains will depart Port Jefferson 3 minutes earlierthan in the Sept. 8-Nov. 8 timetable.
    • Eastbound trains will depart Penn Station 13-15 minutes later than in the Sept. 8-Nov. 8 timetable.

    Ronkonkoma Branch

    AM Peak
    Three westbound trains will depart earlier at stations east of Hicksville to account for reduced speeds in areas prone to low-adhesion conditions. These trains will arrive at western terminals at their usual times:

    • The 5:25 AM train from Greenport to Ronkonkoma will depart 3 minutes earlier, at 5:22 AM. This train will continue to connect with the 7:00 AM train from Ronkonkoma to Penn Station.
    • The 7:51 AM train from Farmingdale to Penn Station will depart 2 minutes earlier, at 7:49 AM.
    • The 7:32 AM train from Ronkonkoma to Penn Station will depart 3 minutes earlier, at 7:29 AM.

    Weekdays (midday)
    Westbound trains will depart Ronkonkoma 21 minutes earlier than in the Sept. 8-Nov. 8 timetable.

    Nov. 16: Carle Place Station Access Point Change

    Beginning on Monday, November 16, the Garden Avenue access point to the south side platforms at Carle Place Station will close.  As an alternative, please use the south side platform, which connects to Carle Road.

    Boarding patterns at Carle Place Station will remain as follows:
    Please be prepared to board and exit all trains (westbound and eastbound) from the first six (6) cars

     

    The LIRR Expansion Project will add a third track along nearly 10 miles of right-of-way between Floral Park and Hicksville, increasing capacity, improving reliability and creating new service opportunities. Thank you for your patience while work is underway.

    NJ TRANSIT Rail:

    New Rail Schedules Available – Effective Sunday, November 8, 2020

    Atlantic City

    Beginning September 14, from 8:30 AM until 2:45 PM weekdays and continuing through mid-December 2020. Buses will replace midday trains between Egg Harbor City and Philadelphia 30th St Station due to track work.

    Newark Light Rail

    Beginning at 8PM Thursday, Nov. 12 and continuing until 2AM Friday, Nov. 13, boarding changes will occur on NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Light Rail due to scheduled track maintenance work as follows:

    Thursday, Nov.12 to Friday Nov. 13 | 8PM to 2AM
    All trains will arrive on the outbound platforms at Military Park, Washington Street, Warren Street, Norfolk Street, Orange Street, and Park Avenue stations.

    Inbound platforms will be closed at Military Park, Washington Street, Warren Street, Norfolk Street, Orange Street and Park Avenue stations.

    All trains will operate on a regular Sunday schedule.

    NJ TRANSIT will perform necessary track maintenance on the Newark Light Rail on Saturday November 14th from 2AM until Monday, November 16 at 5AM.
    During this time, substitute bus service will operate every 20 minutes all weekend between Newark Penn Station (rear of Bus Lane #1 near McDonald’s) and Grove Street stations.

    Service will be temporarily discontinued on the Broad Street Extension (BSE) including Broad Street, Washington Park, Newark Penn, NJPAC/Center Street, Atlantic Street and Riverfront Stadium stations.

    Customers are advised to use existing bus service to connect between NPS and your destination. A separate advisory is posted detailing bus service options for stations on the BSE. Please visit the NJ TRANSIT website for complete information.
