NYC Planned Service Changes

October 29, 2020

    The clocks are changing! ⏰🌅

November 1: Daylight Savings Time Ends

Effective 2 AM on Sunday, November 1, 2020, clocks will be set back one hour from Daylight Saving Time (DST) to Eastern Standard Time (EST). Accordingly, all train schedules will go back one hour as of 2 AM; service will be affected as follows:

    Westbound Customers:
During the 1 AM DST hour, trains will operate in accordance with the special weekend trackwork timetables in effect on October 31-November 1. The following westbound trains scheduled to begin their trips during the 2 AM DST hour will instead operate during the 1 AM EST hour:

    • The 2:07 AM train from Huntington to Hicksville will depart Huntington at 1:07 AM EST
    • The 2:30 AM train from Hicksville to Babylon will depart Hicksville at 1:30 AM EST
    • The 2:52 AM train from Babylon to Penn Station will depart Babylon at 1:52 AM EST
    • The 2:10 AM train from Port Washington to Penn Station will depart Port Washington at 1:10 AM EST.

No trains will begin their trips in the 2 AM EST hour. Starting at 3 AM EST, service will resume operating in accordance with the special weekend trackwork timetables.

    Eastbound Customers:
During the 1 AM DST hour, trains will operate out of Penn Station and Atlantic Terminal in accordance with the special weekend trackwork timetables in effect on October 31-November 1. Connecting service, except for Ronkonkoma and Greenport, will remain available, which means that the 2:24 AM DST train from Valley Stream to Far Rockaway will instead originate at 1:24 AM EST.

During the 1 AM EST hour, one train will depart Penn Station at 1:39 AM. This train will stop at Woodside, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, Valley Stream, Lynbrook, Rockville Centre, and then make all local stops to Babylon. There will be no service from Atlantic Terminal, and no connections for this train will be available at Jamaica. Customers desiring service to Ronkonkoma should take this train to Babylon for the shuttle train to Hicksville and connecting service to Ronkonkoma/Greenport.

During the 2 AM EST hour, service will resume operating in accordance with the special weekend trackwork timetables, with one extra train departing Penn Station at 2:04 AM, making all stops to Port Washington (except Mets-Willets Point).
