Philadelphia Marathon Weekend takes place from November 22 to 24. The event involves multiple races throughout the weekend and is a wonderful opportunity to have fun getting active while supporting some fantastic charities.
Getting to the Marathon
If you’re participating in a race (or just attending to cheer the runners on), SEPTA is a great way to ensure you arrive at the starting line on time. Nearby stations include 15th Street on the Market-Frankford Line [L], City Hall on the Broad Street Line [B], 22nd Street Station on Trolley Routes [T] 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36 or Suburban Station for Regional Rail lines.
If you’re coming from New Jersey, it’s easy to transfer from PATCO to SEPTA. Exit PATCO at 8th/Market Street Station. Take the escalator or stairs to concourse level and exit PATCO’s fare gates. Follow the orange signs for the Broad Street Line [B] and the blue signs for the Market Frankford Line [L].
Road Closures
To facilitate the Marathon, beginning Friday, November 22 and throughout the weekend, numerous streets will be either partially or fully blocked. This will impact SEPTA’s bus service on Sunday, November 24. The full list of affected routes is below.
For a complete list of road closures and when they will occur, please visit the Delaware River Waterfront website.
