Rail Service Changes πŸš„

Dear riders,

We have collected several public transit changes that are worth getting to know about this week.

As part of the electrification work of the Suburban line between Netanya, Tel Aviv, Lod, and Rehovot stations starting in July 7, there will be several service changes in the Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Lod, and southern areas.Β 

πŸš„ Herzliya and Tel Aviv area

Every Thursday from 21:00 (approximately) until Sunday with the renewal of the service:

  • Herzliya station – will be temporarily closed for service
  • Trains on the Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon – Herzliya line will begin and end their ride at the Tel Aviv Savidor Central station and will not stop at the Tel Aviv University and Herzliya stations
  • Trains on the Ashkelon/Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan – Tel Aviv – Herzliya line will start and end their ride at Raanana West station and will not stop at Herzliya station

Every Friday and Saturday trains on the Beer Sheva – Herzliya line will begin and end their ride at the Tel Aviv Savidor Central station and will not stop at the Tel Aviv University and Herzliya stations.Β 

From Sunday to Thursday, between 19:00 (approximately) and 21:00 (approximately), the frequency of trains between Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan and Herzliya will gradually decrease, and this will be two trains per hour, in each direction, instead of four trains.Β 

From Sunday to Thursday, train number 613, which departs daily at 5:18 and ends its ride at Ashkelon, will begin its ride at Raanana West station at 5:23.

🚌  Free shuttles will be operating between Tel Aviv Savidor Central and Herzliya stations and between Raanana West and Herzliya stations


πŸš„ Lod and southern areas

Due to the closure of the Lod station as part of electrification work, the following changes will apply from Sunday to Thursday:

  • Train number 979, which departs daily from Netanya station at 19:50 and ends its ride at Beer Sheva station, will end its ride at Tel Aviv Hagana station and will not stop at Kfar Chabad, Lod, Rehovot, Yavne East, Ashdod ad Halom, Ashkelon, Sderot, Netivot, Ofakim, Beer Sheva
  • Train number 47, which departs daily from Nahariya station at 18:28 and ends its ride at Be’er Sheva, will not stop at Lod, Ramla, Mazkeret Batya, Kiryat Malachi Yoav, Kiryat Gat, Lehavim Rahat
  • Train number 50, which departs daily from Beer Sheva Central Station at 19:42 and ends its ride at Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station, will begin its ride at 20:04 and will not stop at Lehavim Rahat, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi Yoav, Mazkeret Batya, Ramla, Lod
  • Train number 275, which departs daily from Binyamina station at 19:07 and ends its ride at Lod, will not stop at Lod Ganei Aviv station
  • Train number 277, which departs daily from Binyamina station at 19:37 and ends its ride at Kfar Chabad station, will end its ride at Tel Aviv Hagana station and will not stop at Kfar Chabad station
  • Train number 177, which departs daily from Nahariya station at 6:15 PM and ends its ride at Modi’in Merkaz station, will end its ride at Tel Aviv Haganah station and will not stop at Ben Gurion Airport, Modi’in and Modi’in Merkaz stations

The following trains will not be operated:

  • Train No. 980, which departs daily from Be’er Sheva Center at 19:03 and ends its ride at Tel Aviv Savidor Station.
  • Train No. 181, which departs daily from Herzliya station at 21:48 and ends its ride at Modi’in Center
  • Train No. 182, which departs daily from Modi’in Merkaz station at 20:51 and ends its ride at Herzliya station

Β πŸš„ Temporary changes in Petah Tikva Kiryat Arieh station

Due to works at the Petah Tikva train station in Kiryat Arie, starting Friday, July 15 until Monday, August, platform number 2 at Petah Tikva Kiryat Arie station will be temporarily closed and temporary changes in train traffic will apply.

  • During these days, trains from Tel Aviv to Herzliya will not stop at the Petah Tikva station in Kiryat Arie
  • Trains from Herzliya to Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, Moshe Dayan, and Ashkelon – will stop at the station in accordance with the regular schedule
  • The service at Petah Tikva Sgula station will be as usual and it is recommended to use this station

🚌 Free shuttles will be operating throughout all service hours between Petah Tikva Kiryat Arieh and Petah Tikva Sgula. 

The service at the Petah Tikva Kiryat Arieh station will return to normal on Tuesday, August 2nd.


Moovit is updated with the latest changes that are being published by the bus operators and the Ministry of Transportation.
