🚍Happy Transit Equity Day! Today is the birthday of iconic civil rights activist, Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks became a key figure in the Civil Rights movement when in 1955 she refused to give up her seat on a segregated public bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Her actions of brave defiance are considered a pivotal moment that helped spark the Civil Rights Movement that led to the Montgomery bus boycott and the U.S. Supreme Court decision declaring segregation on buses unconstitutional.
