🚉 Changes in Israel Railways service
On Rosh Hashanah 5786, trains will operate according to a special schedule, which includes additional trains on the eve of the holiday and on the evening after the holiday, in order to meet the high demand for travel and to enable optimal train service.
Rosh Hashana Eve, Monday, 22.09.25
- Passenger trains will operate between 06:00–16:00 (approximately) in a format based on Friday schedules. This will include additional train service with a higher frequency of two trains per hour (instead of one per hour) on the Haifa–Tel Aviv line.
- Train service will operate on the Be’er Sheva–Dimona line.
- Operating hours on the Ashkelon–Be’er Sheva Center line will be extended until 16:00 (approximately).
On this day and on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, alternative shuttle services will not operate.
The evening after the holiday, Wednesday, 24.09.25
- On this day, train service will resume starting from 21:00 and will operate according to a format based on Saturday Evening schedules.
- Additional train service will be provided on the Haifa–Tel Aviv line, and in other areas in the Northern and Southern Regions: Karmi’el–Haifa Hof HaCarmel, Tel Aviv–Be’er Sheva Center, Ashkelon–Be’er Sheva Center, and Be’er Sheva Center–Dimona.
- Night trains will operate on the Nahariya–Ben Gurion Airport line (instead of the Binyamina–Ben Gurion Airport line).
Changes in Bus & Light Rail Service
On Rosh Hashanah Eve, September 22,buses and light rails will operate on a holiday-eve schedule, similar to a Friday timetable.
On Rosh Hashanah, September 23, buses and light rails will not operate at all. Service will resume on the evening of the holiday, September 24, on a schedule similar to Saturday night operations.
* In East Jerusalem and the Arab sector, bus lines will operate as usual.
