The Visit PA New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront features two shows, one at 6 pm and the second at midnight, over the Delaware River. To avoid traffic, take the Market-Frankford Line [L] to 2nd Street Station or Bus Routes 5, 12, 17, 21, 25, 33 or 42.
SEPTA NYE Service:
On New Year’s Eve, Regional Rail trains operate on weekday schedules with special late-night service. The late-night New Year’s Eve schedules include added service to Chestnut Hill East, Fox Chase, Lansdale/Doylestown, Malvern, Marcus Hook, Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Wawa, Trenton, Warminster and West Trenton. Regional Rail also provides additional late-night service on the Trenton Line for connections to/from NJT/NYC.
All metro lines and bus routes operate on a weekday schedule. Additional trains on the Broad Street Line [B] and Market-Frankford Line [L] will operate before and after the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Penn’s Landing, with late night trains available.
In preparation for the Mummers Parade, the following bus routes will be detoured beginning at 8:15 am on 15th Street between JFK Boulevard and Chestnut Street: 4, 16, 17, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 62, 124, 125, BSO and MFO.
🎆SEPTA New year’s Day Service:
On New Year’s Day, Regional Rail, Metro and buses operate on a Sunday schedule.
Bus routes 204, 310, 311 and LUCY will not run on New Year’s Day.
🥁Mummers Parade Buss Detours & Modified Service:
The 2025 Mummers Parade begins at 9 am, Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Below is a summary of SEPTA bus detours and road closures that will be in effect for the duration of the parade.
To get to the parade using SEPTA, ride Regional Rail to Suburban Station, then transfer over to either the Market-Frankford Line [L], Trolley to 15th Street Station or the Broad Street Line [B] to get to City Hall, Walnut-Locust or Lombard-South stations.
Riders can utilize plan.septa.org for real-time planning to and from the Mummers Parade.
Mummers Parade Route
The parade starts at 17th and Market streets, heads towards Philadelphia’s City Hall and continues south along Broad Street to Washington Avenue.
Impact on Customers
SEPTA Bus Routes 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 40, 42, 44, 45, 48, 49, 64, 124, 125, BSO and MFO will be detoured from their normal routes beginning as early as 2 am through 11:59 pm on Wednesday, January 1.
