The San Francisco Carnaval is this weekend!
The 2-day festival starts Saturday at 11 am. The Carnaval parade will be held on Sunday between 9:30 am- and 2:30 pm.
If you are planning on watching the parade or have other plans – please note that roads around the events will have closures throughout the weekend and many Muni buses will be rerouted.
Avoid the hassle of parking and take public transit to all Carnaval events. Use Moovit to plan your trip.

Carnaval Festival Street Closures: May 26-29, 2023
The Carnaval San Francisco Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday in the Mission District. Streets will be closed as early as Friday evening.
Street Closures
These streets will be closed to automobiles for event setup, staging and takedown. Local access will be allowed for residents.
Friday, 4 p.m. to Monday, 2 a.m.
- Harrison, between 16th and 24th streets
- Alabama (west side only), between 16th and 24th streets
- 17th St, between Folsom and Alabama
- 18th St, between Folsom and Alabama
- 19th St, between Folsom and Alabama
- 20th St, between Folsom and Alabama
- 21st St, between Folsom and Alabama
- 22nd St, between Treat and Alabama
- 23rd St, between Treat and Alabama

Carnaval Parade: May 28, 2023
The Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade will take place on Sunday starting at 9:30 a.m in the Mission District. Streets will be closed and Muni will reroute around the parade and festival area.

These streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the parade, staging and takedown.
- Mission, between 15th and 24th streets

Muni Reroutes
Summary
- The 12 Folsom/Pacific will reroute onto Valencia between Cesar Chavez and 13th St
- The 14 Mission and 14R Mission Rapid will reroute onto Valencia between Cesar Chavez and 13th St
- The 22 Fillmore will reroute onto 13th St between Bryant and Valencia
- The 27 Bryant will reroute onto Potrero between Cesar Chavez and Division
- The 33 Ashbury/18th St will reroute onto 13th St. between Valencia and Bryant
- The 48 Quintara/24th St will reroute onto Cesar Chavez between Valencia and Potrero
- The 49 Mission/Van Ness will reroute onto Valencia between Cesar Chavez and 13th St
- The 55 16th Street will not serve Mission Street stops
- The 67 Bernal Heights will not serve 24th Street stops
