    • The Warriors have two upcoming home games. Muni is offering supplemental service pre and post-game. Details below.
    • It is Super Bowl weekend!!! The San Francisco 49ers will play against the Kansas City Chiefs. During the event, the following Muni routes will be detoured: 14, 49, 12, 27, 22, 33, 55, 48, and 67. Details below.
    • The Taraval Improvement Project is continuing with construction along Taraval St. Details below.

    SFMTA Weekend Transit Updates

    Events at Chase Center

    Saturday, Feb. 10 and Wednesday, Feb. 14: The Warriors will play two home games at the Chase Center:

    • Saturday, Feb. 10: The Warriors will play against the Phoenix Suns. Game will start at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
    • Wednesday, Feb. 14: The Warriors will play against the LA Clippers. Game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
    Supplemental Muni Service
    • Muni will operate supplemental 78X Arena Express service
    • Pre-event express shuttle service from 16th Street BART Station to Chase Center will start two and a half hours before each game/event and will end one hour after game/event starts.
    • Post-event express shuttle service from Chase Center on 16th Street to 16th Street BART Station will run until the area clears.

    Special Event Parking Rates

    During basketball games and other major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at the arena, parking meters close to the arena will charge a special event rate of $10 per hour. These rates help reduce congestion and keep parking spots available in the neighborhoods near the arena, discouraging circling for free or cheap parking. Start times for special event rates vary based on the start time of the event. 

    Street Closures

    To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

    • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
    • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
    • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
    • Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

    No Parking Zone

    To facilitate loading and pick up for Muni customers and patrons, NO PARKING will be in effect at these locations during events:

    • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
    • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
    • Between the 500 and 700 blocks of Terry Francois Boulevard (TFB)

    Taxi Stands

    There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
    Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

    Additional Passenger Loading
     

    • 4th Street which connects to Chase Center via Gene Friend Way pedestrian path which cuts through UCSF campus.
    • Owens Street connects to Chase Center via Gene Friend Way pedestrian path which cuts through UCSF campus. 
    49ers Super Bowl GameSunday, Feb. 11: The San Francisco 49ers will play against the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Super Bowl. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will finish at around 6:30 p.m.

    After the game, streets around the city may become congested and changing conditions may require reroutes. 

    Between 5 p.m. until streets are clear, Muni bus will avoid using Mission Street, 24th Street and 16th Street in the Mission District. The following Muni routes will be re-routed:

    • 14 Mission, 14R Mission Rapid and 49 Van Ness/Mission will use Guerrero Street from 15th to Cesar Chavez streets.
    • 12 Folsom and 27 Bryant will use Potrero Street between 22nd and Cesar Chavez streets.
    • 22 Folsom, 33 Ashbury/18th Street and 55 Dogpatch will use 14th and 15th streets between Guerrero Street and South Van Ness Avenue.
    • 48 Quintara/24th Street and 67 Bernal Heights will use Cesar Chavez Street instead of 24th Street between Potrero and Valencia streets.

    CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES

    UPDATE: L Taraval Improvement Project—Segment B

    The L Taraval Improvement Project is a multi-agency collaboration to improve safety, accessibility and transit reliability, and to rehabilitate aging rails, utility lines and roadway pavement along the L Taraval line between Sunset Boulevard and 15th Avenue and on Ulloa Street near West Portal.

    Work to install new rails, boarding islands, boarding ramps and curb ramps continues. Track installation is approximately 68% complete. The work zone for the track installation on Taraval Street between 19th and 22nd avenues is anticipated to be restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction until Friday, Feb. 23, after which some parking will be released. The last track area activation is anticipated to start on Monday, Feb. 12, between 33rd  Avenue and Sunset Boulevard.

    Construction work is taking place at these locations:

    • Taraval Street and 14th Avenue: water and sewer line work
    • Taraval Street between 15th and 20th avenues: construct bulb-out, reconstruct sidewalk, curb ramp, boarding platforms
    • Taraval Street between 19th and 22nd avenues: track area, remove and install tracks
    • Taraval Street between 23rd and 31st avenues: construct sidewalks, boarding islands and ADA compliant platforms
    • Taraval Street between 31st and 34th avenues: street base work, (intermittent street closures with one block at a time are expected), sidewalk reconstructions
    • Taraval Street between 34th Avenue and Sunset Boulevard: water, sewer line work and track work (anticipated work will start on Monday, Feb. 12)
    • Ulloa Street between Forest Side and 15th avenues: track work, sidewalk reconstruction

    Nighttime work is scheduled from Sunday through Friday, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Taraval Street between 19th and 35th avenues to upgrade the Overhead Contact System (OCS) that powers the trains. Work on any given block will vary and is expected to take a few hours to a few days per location. OCS work is expected to be completed in June 2024.

    The L Bus now runs between West Portal and the SF Zoo. Customers can transfer to a train at West Portal Station to travel downtown. 

    During construction L Taraval bus stops are being relocated:

    • 48 Quintara (Effective between Monday, Jan. 1 and Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024)

        • From 14th Avenue and Ulloa Street to Madrone Avenue and Ulloa Street, northwest corner
      • Outbound
        • From Ulloa Street and Lenox Way to West Portal Avenue and Ulloa Street, southeast corner
        • From 14th Avenue and Ulloa Street to Taraval Street and 14th Avenue, northeast corner
        • From 14th Avenue and Taraval Street to northeast corner
