Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
- It is strongly recommended to wear a face mask in indoor public spaces and when you can’t physically distance from others.
City Circle
Monday 17 October
- From 9.50pm until 11.55pm, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
- From 11.55pm until 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.
T1 North Shore Line
Hornsby lift to platforms 2 and 3 out of service
- From Tuesday 4 October to Monday 12 December, the lift servicing platforms 2 and 3 at Hornsby Station will be closed for maintenance.
Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 October
- Nightly from 10pm until 2.20am, buses replace Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains between Hornsby and Berowra.
- T1 North Shore Line trains continue to run until the last timetabled service, then buses replace all trains between Hornsby and Berowra.
Friday 21 to Saturday 22 October
- From 10pm Friday until 8.30am Saturday, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
- You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
T1 Western Line
Friday 21 October
- From 10pm until 10.20pm, some trains to the City end at Olympic Park. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
- From 10.20pm until 12.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at Homebush, Burwood and Ashfield.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- Limited buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield.
- From 7pm Saturday until 2am Sunday, limited buses replace trains between Parramatta and Strathfield.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Friday 21 October
- From 10pm until 10.20pm, some trains to the City end at Olympic Park. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
- From 10.20pm until 12.30am, Homebush trains run between Rhodes, Strathfield and the City only. T1 Western Line trains make extra stops at Homebush, Burwood and Ashfield.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- Limited buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield.
- From 7.30pm Saturday until 2am Sunday, buses replace trains between Merrylands and Strathfield.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 17 to Thursday 20 October
- Nightly from 10.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Sydenham.
- Trains run between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Bankstown only.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 17 to Thursday 20 October
- Nightly from 10.40pm until 1.30am, trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
T7 Olympic Park Line
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, then continue to Penrith or Leppington.
- From 7.30pm Saturday until 2am Sunday, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, continuing to Parramatta or Strathfield.
T9 Northern Line
Hornsby lift to platforms 2 and 3 out of service

- You may need to change trains at Epping to continue your journey.
Blue Mountains Line
Friday 21 to Sunday 23 October
- From 9.45pm Friday until 12.40am Saturday, trains from Blacktown to Central may run to a changed timetable, up to 30 minutes later than normal.
- Saturday, the 00:18 Central to Lithgow service will run to a changed timetable via the T3 Bankstown Line.
- From 2am Saturday continuing all weekend, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Central.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Hornsby lift to platforms 2 and 3 out of service

Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 October
- Nightly from 10pm until 2.20am, buses replace trains between Gosford and Hornsby.
- Trains run between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford, and between Hornsby and Central, some to a changed timetable.
Friday 21 October
- From 10pm until 2am, trains towards Central run via the T1 North Shore Line to a changed timetable.
- Trains from Central towards Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations continue to run via Strathfield, some to a changed timetable.
- The 22:47 Central to Newcastle Interchange service will leave from Central, platform 18.
Saturday 22 to Sunday 23 October
- Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
Hunter Line
Thursday 20 October
- Buses replace the following trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook:
- 08:14 Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook
- 10:09 Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange.
South Coast Line
Saturday 22 October
- From 8am until 4pm, at Otford, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Sunday 23 October
- From 8am until 4pm, at Scarborough, Wombarra and Coledale, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 15 October to Saturday 26 November
- On most Saturdays from 10am until 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
