Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- From 10 January 2022, most public transport services will run to a reduced timetable. Plan ahead and consider all your transport options. Allow extra travel time as connecting services may be impacted.
- Currently COVID Safe capacity on public transport is around 75 percent. Green dots will help you to choose the best places to sit or stand.
- Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.
Metro
Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Thursday 27 January
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, no trackwork on the Metro, but trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Thursday 27 January
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Central.
T1 Western Line
Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Thursday 27 January
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 January
- Nightly from 11.15pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Olympic Park.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Tuesday 25 January
- From 10.50pm until 1.30am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.
Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 January
- Nightly from 11.15pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Granville.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January
- Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield.
- On Saturday from 10pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield and T8 Airport & South Line trains between Macarthur and East Hills.
T3 Bankstown Line
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January
- Buses replace trains between Liverpool and Bankstown.
T5 Cumberland Line
Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 January
- Nightly from 11.15pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Lidcombe, and between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Granville.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January
- Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield.
- On Sunday from 6.30am until 10.30am, trains run between Schofields and Strathfield only.
T8 Airport&South Line
Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 January
- Nightly from 10.10pm until 2.30am, buses replace trains from Central to Glenfield, in that direction only.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
- On Saturday from 10pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Macarthur and East Hills and T2 Inner West & Leppington Line trains between Leppington and Glenfield.
T9 Northern Line

- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
