Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- From 11 October, COVID Safe capacity on public transport will increase to around 50 percent. Services will be running to a dynamic weekday timetable. Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, rideshare and hire cars across NSW. Please consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving if possible.
Metro
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 9pm until 1am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
Sunday 31 October
- Nightly from 9pm until 1am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
City Circle
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.
T1 North Shore Line
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
- From 11pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, trains run between Hornsby and Wynyard only.
T1 Western Line
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 10.15pm until 12.15am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Penrith trains make an extra stop at Burwood.
- From 11pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Ashfield only, making extra stops at Flemington and Homebush. Buses replace all trains between Ashfield and Central.
- On Sunday from 6.30am until 10.30am, Richmond trains run between Richmond and Strathfield only.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, the all-stations Homebush trains run to a changed timetable between Homebush and North Sydney.
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Trains may run to a changed timetable.
- From 11pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, buses replace trains between Strathfield or Ashfield and Central.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 1.30am, trains start and end at Central, platform 22, due to City Circle trackwork.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 10.50pm until 2.40am, buses replace trains between Sutherland and Hurstville.
Sunday 31 October
- From 5.50am until 8am, trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla or Waterfall and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction only.
T5 Cumberland Line
Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 October
- Nightly from 11.50pm until 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Granville, and between Granville and Leppington only. Some trains start or end at Olympic Park.
T8 Airport & South Line
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 1.30am, trains start and end at Central, platform 23, due to City Circle trackwork.
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Trains may run to a changed timetable.
T9 Northern Line
Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October
- Nightly from 9.45pm until 12.15am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
- From 11pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, buses replace all trains between Strathfield and Central.
Blue Mountains Line
Friday 29 October
- From 11pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central suburban platforms.
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Trains run between Lithgow or Mount Victoria and Strathfield only.
- From 11pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, buses replace all trains between Strathfield and Central.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Friday 29 October
- From 11pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central suburban platforms.
Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October
- Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Central.
Hunter Line
Wednesday 27 October
- Buses replace selected trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook.
Friday 29 October to Wednesday 3 November
- From 7.50pm Friday until 10.30am Wednesday, buses replace trains between Scone or Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
- On Friday the 17:59 Newcastle Interchange to Scone service will end at Maitland.
South Coast Line
Sunday 31 October
- From 5.50am until 8am, trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle.
