Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
- It is strongly recommended to wear a face mask in indoor public spaces and when you can’t physically distance from others.
Metro
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- No trackwork on the metro but trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may affect how you travel.
- If you are travelling to the City change at Chatswood, not Epping, for a direct train to the City.
City Circle
Monday 24 to Thursday 27 October
- Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.
- T1 North Shore & Western, T2 Inner West and T9 Northern Line trains continue to run between Central and Wynyard.
T1 North Shore Line
Hornsby lift to platforms 2 and 3 out of service
- From Tuesday 4 October to Monday 12 December, the lift servicing platforms 2 and 3 at Hornsby Station will be closed for maintenance.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
- Trains run between Hornsby and the City to a changed timetable.
- Buses also replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
T1 Western Line
Monday 24 to Thursday 27 October
- Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change at Parramatta for trains towards the City.
- Sunday from 11.30am until 7.30pm, trains run between Richmond and Liverpool.
- Saturday from 11pm until 2am, and Sunday from 10.30pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 24 to Thursday 27 October
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Homebush and North Sydney due to City Circle trackwork.
- Leppington trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Central, platforms 1-12, and will not stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- Saturday from 11pm until 2am, and Sunday from 10.30pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Lidcombe, then Olympic Park.
T3 Bankstown Line
Friday 28 October
- Buses replace the 00:30 Central to Liverpool service from Sydenham to Liverpool, and the 00:52 Lidcombe to Bankstown service.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 24 to Thursday 27 October
- Nightly from 10.50pm until 2.40am, buses replace trains between Sutherland and Hurstville.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and Sutherland, and between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
T5 Cumberland Line
Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 October
- Nightly from 11.50pm until 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Granville, and between Granville and Leppington only. Some trains start and end at Olympic Park.
- You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
T7 Olympic Park Line
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Richmond or Penrith.
T8 Airport & South Line
Monday 24 to Thursday 27 October
- Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.
T9 Northern Line

Blue Mountains Line
Friday 28 October
- From 11pm until 2am, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and North Sydney or the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change at Blacktown to continue your journey.
- Bathurst trains continue to run between Bathurst and Central, to a changed timetable.
- Saturday from 11pm until 2am, and Sunday from 10.30pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Central.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Hornsby lift to platforms 2 and 3 out of service

Hunter Line
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October
- Buses replace trains between Scone or Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
South Coast Line
Saturday 29 October
- Saturday from 8am until 4pm, at Bulli, Woonona, Bellambi and Corrimal, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Sunday 30 October
- Sunday from 8am until 4pm, at Towradgi, Fairy Meadow, North Wollongong, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 15 October to Saturday 26 November
- On most Saturdays from 10am until 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
