Tel Aviv Marathon - Public Transportation Updates 🏃‍♀️ 🚌

 

🏃‍♀️ Marathon ‘Samsung’ Tel Aviv will take place this Friday, 28/2/2020. Therefore, several streets in the city will be blocked and certain bus lines will change their route between 04:00 – 14:00. See all important updates below:

 

🚆 Take a ride with Israel Railways

Friday electrification work in Ayalon segment will be canceled and passengers will be able to get to Tel Aviv University Train station which is located adjacent to the starting point of the race. 25 extra trains will operate in addition to the regular schedule.

 

🚌 The following bus lines will change their routes:

Dan –  5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 25, 28, 31, 33, 38, 39, 40, 44, 45, 54, 61, 62, 63, 66, 70, 72, 73, 82, 89, 104, 125, 129, 138, 142, 161, 166, 172, 189, 204, 238, 239, 240, 289

Kavim – 36, 55, 56, 168, 137, 236, 256, 445, 464, 474

Metropoline – 47, 48, 90, 123, 124, 149, 249, 347, 501, 601, 605, 606, 608

Egged – 274, 271, 171, 71, 88

 

🚫 The following streets and segments will be blocked for vehicles:

North – Rokach Av., Ha’Taarucha St., Levi Eshkol St., Shai Agnon St., Yunitzman St., Tel Aviv Port, 2040 Rd. and Glilot Junction.

South – Jerusalem Blvd., Herzl St., Elifelet St. and Ha’Aliya St.

Center – Dizengoff St., Allenby St., Rotchild Av., Trsat St., Laskov St., Aluf Magen St., Kaplan St., Ha’Arbaa St., Ibn Gvirol St. and Marmorek St.

West – Ha’Yarkon St., Herbert Samuel Promenade, Koifman St. and Goldman St.

 

🛣 In addition, Namir Road will be closed to traffic from Glilot Junction to Pinkas St. in both directions from 08:00 – 11:00.

Highway 20 (Ayalon) will be open to traffic and the following exits will be closed:

  1. Rokach Interchange during all race hours between 04:00 – 14:00
  2. Merkaz Ha’Yeridim to North between 06:00 – 11:00

🚆  Due to Electrification work in Israel Railways, there will be changes in night trains and Friday trains starting Saturday, 29.2.2020 until further notice as follows:

 

👉 Sundays – Thursdays between 04:30 – 21:30

  • Train service from North will terminate at Herzliya station
  • Train service from South will terminate at Tel Aviv Savidor Central station
  • Train service in Raa’nana – Be’er Sheva line will operate from North to Bnei Brak station and from South to Tel Aviv Savidor Central station
  • Train service in Binyamina – Ashkelon & Netanya – Beit Shemesh lines will terminate at Lod station
  • Tel Aviv University, Kfar Habad and Lod Ganei Aviv will be closed

👉 Fridays

All Sundays – Thursdays changes apply also to Fridays and in addition:

  • Special trains will operate between Akko and Lod via the following stations: Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, Merkazit Ha’Mifratz. Haifa Merkaz Ha’Shmona, Haifa Bat Galim, Haifa Hof Ha’Karmel, Binyamina, Keisaria Pardes Hana, Hadera West, Netanya, Beit Yehoshua, Hod Hasharon Sokolov, and Rosh Ha’Ayin North.
  • The trains will operate every two hours in both directions:
  • From Ako: First train at 06:44 and the last train at 12:44
  • From Lod: First train at 07:33 and the last train at 11:33. An additional train will depart at 13:33 and will terminate at Haifa Merkaz Ha’Shmona

 

🚌 Free shuttles will be offered to the passengers and can be found in Moovit’s trip plan
