Transit Delays & Service Changes

    WMATA 

    Major Alerts:

    • Expect continued delays & reduced service on Metrorail until 2022 – It is recommended to check Metrobus alternatives.

    Metrorail Updates:

        • Metrorail operates on the following schedules – Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. – Friday, 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. – Saturday: 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m.- Sunday: 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.
        • Reduced Service until further notice – continue to check app alerts for relevant updates & info.

    Weekday service info.

        • Red Line Trains – Trains will operate approximately every 12 minutes w/6-car trains. Expect delays & consider Metrobus alternatives. Through closing Sat, Jan 15th, Rockville & Shady Grove stations are closed due to the Rockville Canopy Replacement Project. Shuttles provided.
        • Blue Line Trains – Trains will operate approximately every 24 minutes w/6-car trains. Expect delays & consider Metrobus alternatives.
        • Orange Line Trains – Trains will operate approximately every 24 minutes w/6-car trains. Expect delays & consider Metrobus alternatives.
        • Silver Line Trains – Trains will operate approximately every 24 minutes w/6-car trains. Expect delays & consider Metrobus alternatives.
        • Yellow Line Trains – Trains will operate approximately every 20 minutes w/6-car trains. Expect delays & consider Metrobus alternatives.
        • Green Line Trains – Trains will operate approximately every 20 minutes w/6-car trains. Expect delays & consider Metrobus alternatives.

    Weekend service adjustments

        • Red Line Trains operate every 12 minutes. Shady Grove and Rockville stations closed. Free shuttle buses are provided.
        • Blue Line & Orange Line Trains every 26 minutes. Single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon/Arlington Cemetery.
        • Silver Line Trains every 26 minutes, operating between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Transfer to/from Orange Line to continue your trip.
        • Green & Yellow Line Trains every 20 minutes. Single tracking between Fort Totten and Prince George’s Plaza.
