Late May Bank Holiday Transport Changes

    District Line  

    Part Closure
    • Saturday 25, Sunday 26 and Bank Holiday Monday 27 May, no service between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway due to Network Rail track maintenance work.

    Piccadilly Line  

    Part Closure
    • From about 00:01 on Saturday 25, and all day Sunday 26 and Bank Holiday Monday 27 May, no service between Hammersmith and Heathrow (all terminals) / Uxbridge due to track replacement work.

    Overground 

    Part Closure and Reduced Service
    • Sunday 26 May, no service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work, use local London Buses services
    • Until further notice, reduced service between Gospel Oak and Barking. A temporary timetable is in place, with four car trains running every 30 minutes. Supplementary bus services will also run. Monday 20, Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May, the 2313 Barking to Gospel Oak service will terminate at Upper Holloway at 23:40 and the 23:25 train from Gospel Oak to Barking will not run and the last departure will be at 22:48

    TfL Rail

    Special Service
    •  Sunday 26 May, a special service will operate between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. There will still be four trains an hour, but they will not stop at Maryland, Forest Gate or Manor Park, please use local London Buses connections. This is to allow Crossrail to test the trains through the tunnels, transitioning between the different signalling systems

    Tram

    Part Closure
    • Sunday 26 May, until 1600, no service between Sandilands to Birkbeck / Elmers End. This is due to bridge replacement work at Blackhorse Lane. A replacement bus will operate between East Croydon and Birkbeck

     

    National Rail

    Please note a reduced Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern service will run on Bank Holiday Monday.

    Buses replace trains between Barking and Grays via Rainham on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Barking and Grays via Rainham, closing all lines. Trains between London Fenchurch Street and Grays will not run. Replacement buses will operate between Barking and Grays via Rainham.

     

    No c2c services to / from London Liverpool Street on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May

    c2c services will not run to / from London Liverpool Street. Trains will be diverted to start / terminate at London Fenchurch Street, calling additionally at West Ham.

    East Midlands Trains

    Reduced service to / from London St Pancras International from Saturday 25 to Monday 27 May

    Engineering work is taking place around London St Pancras International, between Kettering and Leicester, and between Derby and Chesterfield, closing some lines. As a result, a reduced service will run to / from London St Pancras International, with trains running on an amended timetable. On Saturday and Sunday, replacement buses will run between Kettering and Corby. On Monday, replacement buses will run between Wellingborough and Market Harborough.

    There will be an amended timetable for certain service. Please check before you travel.

     

    Gatwick Express

    No trains at Earlswood or Salfords on Sunday 26 May

    Trains may be subject to extended journey times between Earlswood and Gatwick Airport

     

    Greater Anglia

    Buses replace trains between Wickford and Southend Victoria from Saturday 25 May to Sunday 2 June
    • Overhead electric wire renewal work is taking place between Wickford and Southend Victoria, closing all lines.
    • Buses will replace trains between Wickford and Southend Victoria.
    • Trains will run between Wickford and Southminster.

    No trains via Tottenham Hale on Sunday 26 and Monday 27 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Hackney Downs and Cheshunt via Tottenham Hale, closing all lines. As a result, trains will be diverted to run via Seven Sisters rather than via Tottenham Hale. Stations on the Seven Sisters line are within walking distance of stations on the Tottenham Hale line.

     

    Great Northern

    Buses replace trains between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North late night Saturday 25 until 09:45 on Sunday 26 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North until 09:45, closing various lines. Buses will replace trains between Alexandra Place and Stevenage via Hertford North

     

    Great Western Railway

    No trains to / from Pangbourne from 23:10 on Saturday 25 May

    Engineering work is taking place on 2 out of 4 tracks between Tilehurst and Didcot Parkway from 23:10 on Saturday until the end of the day. As a result of this, the following trains will not call at Pangbourne:

    • 22:12, 22:43 & 23:12 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway
    • 22:56 & 23:49 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington

    Customers travelling to / from Pangbourne are advised to use replacement bus services to / from Tilehurst to connect with train services.

     

    Amended late night / early morning service to / from Burnham and Taplow on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May

    Engineering work is taking place on 2 out of 4 lines between Maidenhead and Twyford from 23:10 on Saturday until 08:00 on Sunday. As a result, the following services will not call at Burnham or Taplow:

    • 23:43 London Paddington to Reading
    • 23:49 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington
    • 00:05 (Sunday) London Paddington to Reading
    • 06:45 (Sunday) London Paddington to Reading
    • 06:20 & 07:32 (Sunday) Reading to London Paddington

    Please note: There is no Sunday service at Taplow.

    Customers are advised to travel via Slough and use connecting buses to / from Burnham and Taplow.

     

    Amended service in the Didcot Parkway area on Sunday 26 May

    The following alterations will be in place: Trains between London Paddington and Oxford / Worcester / Great Malvern / Hereford will be diverted between Reading and Oxford, not calling at Didcot Parkway. Some trains will also be revised to leave London Paddington earlier than normal.

    Customers to / from Didcot Parkway are advised to use alternative high speed or local services.

    Until approximately 21:04, Trains between London Paddington and Didcot Parkway will be revised to terminate / start at Reading.

    Trains between Didcot Parkway and Oxford will be extended to run between Reading and Oxford, calling additionally at Tilehurst, Pangbourne, Goring & Streatley and Cholsey.

    London Northwestern Railway

    Major improvement work at London Euston from Saturday 25 until Monday 27 May
    • Saturday & Monday: A reduced service will operate between Northampton and London Euston all day.
    • Sunday: Until 09:00, buses will replace trains between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central. After 12:00, trains to / from London Euston will operate at a reduced frequency, with some trains between London Euston and Rugby being amended to depart earlier / arrive earlier at London Euston.

     

    Southern

    No Southern trains between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction / Milton Keynes Central from Saturday 25 to Monday 27 May

    On Saturday and Monday

    • Services between East Croydon and Milton Keynes Central will start / terminate at Shepherds Bush.

    On Sunday

    • Services between East Croydon and Milton Keynes Central will not run.

     

    Buses replace trains between Eastbourne and Hampden Park / Polegate / Ore on Sunday 26 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Polegate and St Leonards Warrior Square all day, closing all lines. Buses replace trains between Eastbourne and Hampden Park / Ore / Polegate.

     

    Southeastern

    Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Plumstead on Saturday 25, Sunday 26 and Monday 27 May

    Trains via Woolwich

    • Trains between Lewisham / Deptford and Plumstead will not run.
    • Buses will replace trains between Lewisham and Plumstead via New Cross and Greenwich.

     

    Trains via Bexleyheath

    • London Cannon Street to London Cannon Street ’rounder’ services via Bexleyheath will not run.
    • On Saturday and Monday additional services will run between London Cannon Street and Dartford via Bexleyheath.
    • On Sunday only, London Charing Cross to Dartford (via Woolwich) will be diverted to run via Bexleyheath.

     

    Trains via Sidcup:

    • On Sunday only, London Cannon Street to London Cannon Street ’rounder’ services via Sidcup and Grenwich will run normally via Sidcup, then divert to Dartford.
    • London Charing Cross to Gravesend services via Sidcup will call additionally at Lewisham on Sunday.

     

    Trains via Hayes:

    • London Charing Cross to Hayes services will call additionally at Lewisham on Saturday and Monday only.

     

    Buses replace trains between Ramsgate and Dover Priory on Sunday 26 May
    • Engineering work is taking place between Ramsgate and Dover Priory, closing all lines. Buses will replace trains between Ramsgate and Dover Priory.
    • Services that run on circular routes to / from London St Pancras International will not run between Ramsgate and Dover Priory.
    • Services that run between London St Pancras International and Dover Priory via Ashford International will be retimed.

     

    Buses replace trains between Denmark Hill and Bromley South via Herne Hill on Sunday 26 May
    • Engineering work is taking place between Brixton and Shortlands via Herne Hill, closing all lines.
    • Trains between London Victoria and Orpington will be diverted to run via Denmark Hill and Catford, running non-stop from Denmark Hill to Shortlands.
    • Trains via Maidstone East will be diverted via an alternative route between London Victoria and Bromley South.
    • Replacement bus services will run between Denmark Hill and Bromley South, calling at all stations between Herne Hill and Shortlands.
    • Brixton station will be closed all day. Customers may use their tickets on London Underground Victoria Line services between Brixton and London Victoria.

     

    Buses replace trains between Faversham and Dover Priory via Canterbury East on Sunday 26 and Monday 27 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Faversham and Dover Priory via Canterbury East, blocking all lines. As a result of this, buses will replace trains between Faversham and Dover Priory via Canterbury Eas

    Thameslink

    Amended Thameslink services at London St Pancras International from Saturday 25 to Monday 27 May

    Saturday

    • Trains between Bedford and Brighton will not run as a through service. Trains will run between Bedford and London St Pancras International high level platforms and between London St Pancras International low level platforms and Brighton.
    • Trains between Cambridge and Brighton will continue to run through London St Pancras International.
    • Trains will be unable to call a Kentish Town. Replacement buses will run between West Hampstead Thameslink and London St Pancras International.
    • Trains between Luton / St Albans City and Sutton (via Wimbledon) will start / terminate at London Blackfriars and will not call at stations via Mitcham Junction. Customers should use Southern services for stations via Mitcham Junction.
    • Trains between Luton and Rainham will start / terminate at London Blackfriars, will not call at stations between Deptford and Plumstead, but will call additionally at Lewisham, Blackheath, Eltham, Bexleyheath and Barnehurst. Customers can use Southeastern between Plumstead and Dartford / Deptford.

    Sunday

    • Trains between Bedford and Brighton will not run as a through service. Trains will run between Bedford and London St Pancras International high level platforms and between London St Pancras International low level platforms and Brighton.
    • Trains between Cambridge and Gatwick Airport will continue to run through London St Pancras International.

Customers can use Southeastern between Plumstead and Dartford / Deptford.

    Monday

    • Trains between Luton and Rainham will start / terminate at London Blackfriars, will not call at stations between Deptford and Plumstead, but will call additionally at Lewisham, Blackheath, Eltham, Bexleyheath and Barnehurst. Customers can use Southeastern replacement buses between Plumstead and Dartford / Deptford.

     

    Buses replace trains between Mill Hill Broadway and London St Pancras International until 09:15 on Sunday 26 May

    Engineering work is taking place until 09:15 between Mill Hill Broadway and London St Pancras International, closing some lines. Buses will replace trains between Mill Hill Broadway and London St Pancras International.

     

    No trains at Earlswood or Salfords on Sunday 26 May

    Trains will not stop at Earlswood or Salfords. Customers should replacement bus service between Redhill and Horley.
