Between April 16 and May 6, 2023, Blue, Green, and Red Line trains will not run between Gateway Transit Center and NE Seventh Ave. Shuttle buses will be serving those stations. The disruption is due to TriMet’s “A Better Red” Line Project. Riders heading east of the Gateway area may see schedule delays during work.

Shuttle Bus Service
- Shuttle buses will be running about every 5-7 minutes.
- MAX Green Line will only run between Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center, with shuttle buses serving the closed stations between Gateway Transit Center and the NE 7th Avenue Station. There will be no Green Line service west of Gateway Transit Center. Use MAX Orange or Blue Line for trips west of the NE 7th Avenue Station.
- MAX Red Line will only run between Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport, with shuttle buses serving the closed stations between Gateway Transit Center and the NE 7th Avenue Station. There will be no Red Line service west of Gateway Transit Center. Use MAX Blue Line for trips between NE 7th Ave and Beaverton during the disruption.
- Bus lines running near the disruption may have more riders than normal. Please consider using other bus services, walking, or riding a bike during this time.
MAX service disruptions
– MAX Blue Line
Hillsboro – NE 7th Ave
- MAX Blue Line trains on the west side will travel their normal route between Hillsboro and NE 7th Ave MAX Station.
- To continue east of NE 7th Ave MAX Station, transfer to shuttle buses at NE Holladay & 9th Ave (Stop ID 14112), and get off at stops nearby closed MAX stations closer to your destination, or connect with Blue Line trains at Gateway Transit Center, with service to Gresham.
Gresham – Gateway Transit Center
- MAX Blue Line trains on the east side will travel their normal route between Gresham and Gateway Transit Center.
- To continue west of Gateway Transit Center, transfer to shuttle buses next to the MAX station (Stop ID 8196), and get off at stops nearby closed MAX stations closer to your destination, or connect with Blue Line trains at NE 7th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8375), with service to Portland City Center and Hillsboro.
– MAX Green Line
Clackamas – Gateway Transit Center
- MAX Green Line trains will travel only between Clackamas Town Center and Gateway Transit Center.
- To continue west of Gateway Transit Center to PSU, transfer to shuttle buses next to the MAX station (Stop ID 8196) and connect with MAX Blue Line trains to Portland City Center at NE 7th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8375). In Downtown Portland, transfer to MAX Orange Line trains at Pioneer Place/SW 5th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 7646), with service to PSU and Milwaukie.
- For trips to Clackamas Town Center from PSU, board MAX Yellow Line trains at SW 6th Ave MAX stations and transfer to eastbound MAX Blue Line trains at Pioneer Square South MAX Station (Stop ID 8334). At NE 7th Ave MAX Station, transfer to shuttle buses at NE Holladay & 9th Ave (Stop ID 14112) and connect with MAX Green Line trains at Gateway Transit Center, with service to Clackamas.
– MAX Red Line (Airport)
Airport – Gateway
- MAX Red Line trains will travel only between Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport.
- Heading to the airport? For trips to the airport from the west side, board any MAX Blue Line train to NE 7th Ave MAX Station. Transfer to shuttle buses nearby at NE Holladay & 9th Ave (Stop ID 14112) and connect with MAX Red Line trains at Gateway Transit Center, with service to the airport.
- Leaving the airport? For trips from the airport to Downtown Portland and Beaverton, board any MAX Red Line train to Gateway Transit Center. At Gateway, transfer to shuttle buses nearby (Stop ID 8196) and connect with MAX Blue Line trains at NE 7th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8375), with service to Portland City Center and Hillsboro.

- Orange and Yellow Line trains will travel their normal routes with regular service
