Public transit updates for this week ๐Ÿš ๐Ÿš‹

Dear riders,

We have collected several public transit changes that are worth getting to know about this week.

ย Daylight Saving Time

On March 25, on the night between Thursday and Friday, at 02:00 AM, the clock in Israel time will move one hour ahead. On most devices, the clock update will be automatic but can also be changed manually.

As part of the transition to DST, schedule changes will apply to bus lines based on Shabbat times. In addition, Israel Railways service will start operating on Saturday evening, March 26, at 21:00 (approximately) instead of 20:00, and will end at 24:00 (approximately) instead of 23:00.


ย Jerusalem Marathon โ€“ Friday, March 25

On Friday, March 25, the Jerusalem Marathon event will take place starting at 06:00 and will end at approximately 14:00.

On the day of the race, the following will be closed starting at 03:00: Hebrew University Campus, Netanel Lorech, Rabin Blvd., Rothschild, Kaplan, Haim Hazaz Blvd., Tchernichovsky, Palmach, Aza, Hanasi, Keren Hayesod, King George, Jaffa St., IDF Square, Haโ€™Tsanhanim, Haim Bar-Lev Blvd., George Adam Smith, Lehi, Martin Buber, Benjamin Mazar, Churchill, Kariv, Jaffa Gate, Armenian Patriarchate, Zion Gate, Jerusalem Brigade, King David, Eliyahu Shama, Emil Bota, Jabotinsky, Chopin, Dubnov, Gretz, Emek Refaim, Derech HaRakevet, Derech Bethlehem, David Remez, Derech Hebron, Janowski, Yehuda, Pierre Koenig, Elazar HaModai, Kovshei Katamon, Joshua Yavin, Sacker Garden.

ย Changes in Light Rail service

Between 06: 00-12: 00ย there will be no serviceย between Central Station and Givaโ€™t Haโ€™Tachmoshet.

ย Israel Railways additional serviceย 

The Herzliya โ€“ Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon line will operate with a frequency of two trains per hour, in each direction, from 5:00 (approximately) until 14:00 (approximately).


Changes in Israel Railways service next week

From Wednesday, March 30, at 22:00 until Saturday evening, April 2 at 22:00, there will be temporary service changes in rail service at Netivot and Ofakim stations and Sderot will be temporarily closed to service.

On Wednesday, starting at 22:00 (approximately) and on Thursday at all hours:

On Friday, during all hours of service and on Saturday evening, until 22:00:

On these days, free shuttles will be operating between Ashkelon โ€“ Sderot โ€“ Netivot stations, in both directions:

Thursday, March 31:

From Netivot station via Sderot to Ashkelon station: from 5:25 to 22:25 at every xx: 25 (the last shuttle at 22:25, end at Tel Aviv).

From Ashkelon station, via Sderot to Netivot station: from 5:30 to 23:30 every xx: 30 (the last shuttle at 23:30, will reach Beโ€™er Sheva).

Friday, April 1:

From Netivot station via Sderot to Ashkelon station: from 06:25 to 13:25 atevery xx: 25 (the last shuttle at 13:25, will reach Tel Aviv).

From Ashkelon station, via Sderot station to Netivot station from 06:20 to 13:20 every xx: 25 (the last shuttle at 13:20, will reach Beโ€™er Sheva).


Moovit is updated with the latest changes that are being published by the bus operators and the Ministry of Transportation.

We remind you, that in accordance with the Ministries of Health and Transportation guidelines, it is mandatory to wear a face mask on every ride and not use any public transportation line if having illness symptoms.
