We have collected several public transit changes that are worth getting to know about this week.
Carmelit – No service until Sept 18
Due to annual maintenance work, the Carmelit in Haifa will not operate on September 4-17. The service will return on Sunday, September 18.
Rachbalit – No service this weekend
Due to maintenance work, the Rachbalit in Haifa will be closed between September 9-11.
Extra is coming to Jerusalem!
Starting Friday, September 16, 2022, Extra operator will start operating lines 61 and 541 in Jerusalem! The lines and schedules are available in Moovit.

Ben Gurion Airport station – No service on September 16-17
Following maintenance work, the Ben Gurion Airport station will be closed on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17. As a result, trains will not operate on the Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon – Tel Aviv Savidor CenterΒ andΒ Modi’in Center – Tel Aviv Savidor Center lines.

Train schedule update – starting September 17
- The suburban line traveling between Netanya, Netanya Sapir, Beit Yehoshua, Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Kfar Chabad, Lod Ganei Aviv, Lod, Beer Ya’akov, and Rehovot will return to operating in the evening and at night (until midnight), as well as on Fridays and Saturday nights
- Night trains will be operated between the Tel Aviv Savidor Center- Ben Gurion Airport – Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon, from Sunday to Wednesday and at night, with a frequency of one train every hour, in each direction.
On Thursdays, night trains will be operated between Tel Aviv Savidor Center and Ben Gurion Airport onlyΒ - On weekdays (Sun-Thu), the frequency of trains on the Modi’in Center – Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon lineΒ will increase to two trains every hour, during peak hours, instead of one train every hour
- The operating hours at the Beit Shemesh, Ramla, Mazkeret Batya, Kiryat Malachi Yoav, Kiryat Gat, and Lehavim Rahat stations will be extended on weekdays until midnight (approximately) and trains will operate on Fridays until 2:00 p.m. (approximately)
- The Beer Sheva Center will be closed to service from midnight due to the electrification work in the Beer Sheva area
- Ha’Rishonim Rishon Lezion – Lod line will return to operate on all days and hours of service starting September 27!
- As the electrification works on the line between Sderot, Nwtivot, and Ofakim stations, the frequency of trains at these stations will decrease to one train every hour, throughout all hours and days of service. Also, the operating hours at these stations will be shortened to 20:30 (approximately) on mid-week days and these stations will be closed for service every Friday and Saturday night until the electrification work is completed
- At the Dimona station, six trains will operate on Fridays instead of the current four. As of midnight, the station will be closed for service due to the electrification work being carried out in the area of ββBe’er Sheva North
