WMATA weekend updates (August 19-20)
Highlights
- Orange, Silver, Yellow and Blue line trains operate regular weekend service.
- Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes.
- Extended shutdown – free shuttle buses replace Green Line trains between Branch Ave and Southern Ave.

Red Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday.
Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont.
Single tracking between Farragut North and Judiciary Square to allow for communication cable installation along tunnel walls for cell phone coverage.
Orange Line
Regular weekend service
Silver Line

Blue Line

Green Line
Extended Shutdown. Buses replace trains between Branch Ave and Southern Ave | 7:00 AM Saturday until closing Sunday
Green Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Southern Ave and Greenbelt.
Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes:
- Between Branch Ave and Southern Ave with intermediate stops at Suitland and Naylor Rd.
- Express buses between Branch Ave and Southern Ave.
Stations closed: Branch Ave, Suitland and Naylor Rd.
Work performed: Switch replacement, grout pad and tie replacement and station rehabilitation.
