PTV Service Update 17th September 2020

Melbourne

Coronavirus – COVID-19

From 11.59pm on 13 September 2020, some restrictions have been eased across Victoria in line with Victoria’s roadmap to reopening. Metropolitan Melbourne remains in Stage 4 restrictions with the first step of the roadmap including the easing of the curfew in metropolitan Melbourne from 9pm to 5am.

Melbourne’s train, tram and bus services will continue to run at a reduced level from 8pm to the last service until Monday 28 September. Full services will resume between 8pm and 9pm from Monday 28 September.

Except for a limited number of exemptions, it is now compulsory for all Victorians to wear a face covering when they leave home – please ensure you wear this for your entire journey and practise good hygiene. If you’re unwell, stay home and get tested even if you have the mildest of symptoms.

Major works this spring

As part of Victoria’s Big Build, major works will take place in spring to remove some of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings, while works will also continue on the Sunbury Line Upgrade, Metro Tunnel and West Gate Tunnel Project.

There may be some disruptions to the public transport network while these major works are completed. Works in September include tram Routes 16, 72 and 96.
