Welcoming The Year of Dragon 🐲

February 6, 2024

We Wish to Take This Opportunity to Wish Everyone a Prosperous New Year

Changes to Public Transport Services During This Chinese New Year:

1) Bus & MTR Services Extended On Eve of Chinese New Year

For the benefit of commuters celebrating the incoming Chinese New Year, multiple bus and MTR services will be extending their service on the eve of Chinese New Year (9 February 2024). Information on services had been updated in the Moovit App.

2) Extension of East Rail Line Service on night of 9 February & 11 February 2024

To cater for the heavy cross-boundary passenger flow during the Chinese New Year, Lo Wu Control Point will extend its operating hours on the nights of 9 February (Chinese New Year’s Eve) and 11 February (the second day of the Chinese New Year) until 2:00 a.m. on the next day, and the East Rail Line cross-boundary train service to and from Lo Wu Station will be extended to make travel more convenient for passengers!

Please be reminded that overnight train service for MTR local lines will be provided on the Chinese New Year’s Eve only. Except East Rail Line, there will be no train service extension on the second day of the Chinese New Year and the last train departure time remains unchanged. The Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point (Futian Control Point) will close at 10:30 pm on both days as usual. Train service to or from Lok Ma Chau Station will maintain their regular operating hours.

Note: On the night of 11 February (the second day of the Chinese New Year), other MTR local lines will maintain the regular operating hours without service extension. Passengers who plan to use the East Rail Line extended train service may not be able to transfer to/from other MTR lines. Please be prepared to use other modes of transport for your connecting journeys.
